You don't say what has caused your back pain.

Take 1200 mg of ibuprofen and put ice on it.

I had severe chronic back pain and had every test possible. I had 6 injections of cortisone in my spine, Vicodin, Klonopin, a lot of scotch . . . . there was nothing biological wrong with me.

The doctors were out of tests so the last one sent me to a psychologist. After 2-1/2 years of therapy the pain finally started to subside. I had kept all my feelings inside most of my life and my subconscious decided it was time for me to deal with everything I had experienced.

I really hope yours is a physical problem that can be fixed.

Ice should be used for maximum 20 minutes at a time so have several ice bags. Have you seen a doctor? If so what did the doctor say? What caused the pain? did you fall down, car accident?

The best method I know is for most injuries is:

R- rest
I- ice
C- compression
E- elavation

But when my back hurts, I usually like using hot pads much better. Sometimes it stops the pain long enough for me to fall asleep.
