You're definately doing the right thing! Toothache hurts us humans, so of course we don't want our pets suffering. It's good that you're asking the vets about everything you'll need to know, and you probably are nervous because you don't know them very well yet. My puppy got steralised by a relatively new vet clinic, and I was also nervous at first, but after talking to them for a while I was fine, and so was he! A root canal is pretty minor, so the anaesthetic won't be too much, I'm sure she'll be just fine! Let us know how she goes, and good luck!

You are doing the right thing for you dog! I work at a good vet clinic and a tooth extraction is no major surgery! Everything will be ok if you are going to a good-well-known vet in your community!

Something obviously has to be done NOW. It seems that your only options are to let this vet do the procedure OR go to another vet to have it done. If your dog isn't hurting now, she will be soon.
There is always the chance that "something bad will happen". But that is true in life... she could "get hit by a car" while you are walking with her. As long as you are trying your best to be a good mother, that is all that you can expect of yourself.
Take a tranquilizer and make the appointment! She'll be fine.
Good luck and get the "homecoming" blanket ready.

Don't worry, most vets always are good. if anything bad happens, for one it is not at all your fault, and also, if you think about it, the worst thing that will happen, is that your dog will have a bad tooth, or a sour gum for a while, at least it is not a stomache surgery, now that i would be concerned about. All will go well, best of luck.

Of course you are doing the right thing. Nothing else that you can do.
Don't be too anxious, because your doggy will pick up the nervousness.
Veterinary science is so far advanced now, pulling a tooth is nothing. The greatest risk is always the anaesthesia. Give your baby soft food for a few days till the hole is healed.

Its great to know that people still care about their animals, i live in Aus and in our paper we had an article about a dog who had been kicked by its owner and would never walk again. You are doing the right thing and you are a credit to Dog owners. Go in there with a positive attitude and you will be fine, and if the worst happens, at least you will have your fantastic memories!

First of all, IF anything were to go wrong (and it WONT), it wouldnt be your fault anyway. That would be the fault of the clinic. She has a good track record with anesthesia so I wouldnt worry. You're just being a nervous mom :-) P.S the caps are meant for emphasis not for yelling.

I think you are doing the right thing. I mean if you had a broken tooth you would go to the dentist. Some people do not take care of their dogs teeth at all and just let them rot and get gum disease it's nice to know there are people who actually care about their dogs teeth

it sounds like she is just getting some basic dental work like u or i would. u shoud only be worried if she is overweight or a very unhealthy dog. my dog is getting some dental work done in a few weeks and he is overweight and has a heart murmur so i should be more worried than u but im not because u trust my vet and i know that she can handle what is wrong with him because she diagnosed it like my other vet couldnt. as long as u trust ur vet she will be fine. she wont be under long i dont think. trust me i think ur dog is in good hands.

I hope she is fine - and she probably will be. But even if the worse happens, it is NOT your fault.
Putting a pet under general anesthetic is nerve-wracking. My 8wk old puppy had oral surgery. It only took 15 minutes, but I was So happy to hear it was over and she was coming too OK!
