if you were in a nursing home dying and your family had the choice to stop your suffering and kill you by taking away the machines or just keeping you alive to lay there and do nothing but have a machine feed you and breathe for you????

If I were in that situation I would definitely want the machines to be disconnected. That is no way to live.

If I had my wishes listed on paper and they followed them and removed the machines and tubes I would feel wonderful. If I had my wishes on paper and my wishes were not followed even though that would be illegal I would be bitter and upset. If I didn't have my wishes written down I can only pray to god that my family has the sanity to stop the machines and stop my suffering, make them keep me comfortable pain wise and LET ME GO!

If it were me disconnect those machines. That is no life having a machine breathe for you or feed you. Its all about quality of life.

This is why people need to legally express their wishes. My Dr has a copy, the hospital has a copy, I keep a copy, and my attorney has one also. I do not want machines hooked to to keep me alive.

Euthinasia is something that is a very tochy subject that also happens to be illegal. but honestly. it it were me suffering i would want them to go ahead and pull the plug.
