Well, federal law requires a "client relationship" before selling prescription drugs. Your vet might tell you you need an exam, but really, just having the animal weighed and on file is enough to satisfy the requirements of the law.

After you're on file, you can walk in and get it anytime.

You might be able to call and have the records faxed over. Then call up and ask if they can dispense the flea treatment that your previous vet recommended. You may not have to have an exam for your pet at all.

Some will, and some won't.It depends on the vet,but generally,I think they wil sell it to you once,if your not a client, but then they would want to see your animals so they know a little something about their general health. And,if your regular vet is an hour away,it would be a good idea to get another vet near your new home as well,in case of en emergency. Also, you cab buy Advantage and Frontline at pet stores, but the price is usually higher than at a vet.

All the ones I know of will. We do at the vet hospital where I work. You need to know about how much your dog weighs.

Be careful about buying Frontline or Advantage online. Lots of that stuff is counterfeit from China or India, no matter how convincing the packaging looks. Analysis has shown it is really everything from plain water to sheep dip.

Don't use any flea shampoo, dip, spray or powder you can buy over the counter at a grocery, pet, or feed store. They can be dangerous to small dogs and often don't work anyway. Frontline and Advantage actually work and won't harm your pet.

you're in all probability seeing the flea because of the fact the product is working. they like to be down under the hair the place they'd feed. to not point out, fleas can get on your puppy at each time, for the duration of walks or whatnot. income doesnt kill the flea egg as Frontline Plus does. while they mature, there is yet another grownup flea to be considered. it somewhat is from the Merial Frontline Plus internet site (income doesnt have such FAQ area on their internet site): "Why am I seeing greater fleas on my puppy after using a FRONTLINE variety Product? After the utility of a FRONTLINE variety Product, you ought to even see greater fleas, yet it somewhat is a demonstration that the FRONTLINE variety Product is working. FRONTLINE variety products make fleas hyperexcited, drawing them to the perfect of the haircoat before death. this would lead them to greater seen to you." "Why are FRONTLINE variety products in straightforward terms obtainable by using my veterinarian? it somewhat is Merial's sales coverage to sell our small animal products in straightforward terms the place a veterinarian/shopper/affected person relationship exists. Merial believes that the veterinarian is the only professional qualified to serve the well-being care needs of pets, the worries of their vendors and the proper use of our small animal products which includes FRONTLINE variety products."

A lot of Vets will. Call ahead to Vets that are close to you and ask. I used to get Frontline, then Advantix, but now I use Bio Spot which I get at PetSmart because it works better and smells better and with no side effects for my pets.
The only thing is that it looks greasier for a few more days. It really works good.

I am not quite sure, but all you have to do, is go to a local store, not a market, and go to the pet section, and they have flea products, and everything. But you should probably look for a new vet, incase of an emergancy so you can get their fast.

Most will, but it's a lot cheaper to buy at a Petco/Pet Supermarket, or order online. It's also a pain because veterinary offices want to take down a whole bunch of info on you, so plan for it to take a few minutes.

Most Vets have small shops in the waiting room where you can buy products they recommend and they are more expensive then what you would buy in the store.
You want to spend a lot of money then buy at the vets.
You want to save money go to PetsMart, Wal Mart, Walgreens, Costco, or Sams Club.
