I don't know if it's true in India, but I have a friend in the military and he said in some of the places he's been too it's actually rude to tip and if you leave money on the table, they get offended. Maybe that's true in India

LOL! First it's Black people that never tip, now Indians? OMFG This stereotyping is becoming more and more ridiculous by the day. Once again, tips are NOT mandatory. Get over it. If you get a tip be thankful, if not keep working you're still getting a paycheck at the end of the week. And BTW, I'm Black and a darn good tipper!

As far as war, the "native" Americans warred against each other long before the religious Europeans arrived! So much for religion vs. spirituality. As far as "Indian," it's because Columbus thought he was sailing to India! So when he ran into America, so to speak, he thought he was in India, thus, the "natives" were called Indians. You never studied history in school?

When it comes to tipping it isn't always common in other cultures to do so, so when people come here they don't know that they have to. Its the same as when americans go overseas, they tip even though sometimes they don't have to.
Its just different in different cultures.

Maybe they aren't accustomed to it... other parts of the world don't tip. We lived in England for 3 years and it took awhile for someone to tell us we didn't have to tip... I bet they were always wondering why we left money on the table. LOL All the money we could have saved!

once i work as a massage therapist in a residential spa , I eventually quit my job there because 80 percent of my Indian Customer dont tip at all soo depressing. once i got tip 5 dollars..I have asian customer and caucasian customer, and all of them gave me 10 to 20 dollars tip. I never told my manager that i quit because of this tip situation..I told him i am taking a vacation forever, i only been there few weeks ... employees( massage therapist) there dont last, they just quit in few weeks .... for me i would never work with them at all.. they are just so cheap ( almost all of them) 99 percent. this is based on my observation and i used to work with them

in some coutries people dont have to tip so a lot of them dont even know that they should its not an indian thing....
