Sometimes they might have the best intentions of staying together forever, but when reality sets in and they see how other people are, usually it's easier to pick up and leave rather than working out the problems.
At a younger age, this is normal. I think this is how people discover what sort of people they would want to date long term. When it happens and you're closer to your 40s or 50s, then it's a real problem.

It's because they lie. They either lie to get you into bed, or just to put you in a good mood. Honestly, would you rather have them tell you "Well, I like you. For now. I don't know how long this is going to last, but we will give it a go?". No. That would crush you just as much if not more. Sorry you have to deal with this, I know it sucks, but the real deal doesn't say or do that to you in the long run. Good luck in future relationships.

Some people use the word LOVE because they really want something, others don't just be sure you are tru to yourself, everyone that says they love you, just hold back and see the real them. I dated my (now husband) several monthes before I told him I loved him. Good Luck.

Because they say that to get what they want out of you because they think it's what you want to hear, and unfortunately most girls are too immature to know better. Because they want to live in fantasy land of "soul mates" and "love at first site" not to mention "happily ever after" when real love takes work.

because people never give it time, see in the infatuation stage it is an illusion of love, and most people say things like that during that stage and no longer feel it when that has worn off.

The reason is because they do love you and they want to be with you but platonically only. My boyfriend of 2.5 years just broke up with me after telling me how much he loves and trusts me and it's very difficult because he's never loved anyone as much as he loves me and it's confusing for him not wanting to actually be WITH me anymore. Anyway.

if you're a teenager, it's because you're young and people don't fully understand the seriousness of saying "i love you." They don't fully understand what love really is all about. Alot of young guys just say i love you because they feel pressured to or they use it as a tactic to get girls to sleep with them.

because they dont know the meaning of it they say it only so they can be with you or they think they do
just look into their eyes when they say it and try to read their body language
they should really have to say it u can feel it its like a mutual feeling that doesnt have to be said

That you don't get it IS the reason it happens to you.
But more importantly, this is the sort of thing that happens to the youth all the time. This doesn't happen so much when you get older.
