Al Gore glommed on to environmentalism because he's an empty bag without it - no one fell for his internet invention thingy.
Or how his relationship with Tipper was the inspiration for "Love Story".
But Al has at least remained consistent with his environmental message that humans are dooming the planet since "Earth in the Balance" almost 2 decades ago.
It made me wonder what the SOS part of Live Earth stood for?
Same Old Sh!t?

I have a New Scientist magazine from 1989 in which global warming has two articles. I knew about it in the late 1970s. It was predicted in 1896. Where was Mr. Gore then? Global warming is a matter of physics and chemistry, not politics.

Well, Al Gore isn't running for any office. It would be pretty hard as well as counter-productive to keep that a secret. He's been talking about environmental issues for a long time, so there's no reason to think this is new or strange. My hat's off to him for bringing these issues the attention they deserve.
As for our president, he seems to feel that if he needs an environment, he'll just buy one. I wish him luck.

byderule...Jesus has had at least as many followers as Al Gore worldwide, and Jesus lived honestly and by his own teachings and did not enrich himself at all, not even at others' expense, which is a lot more than I can say for Al Gore. Jesus did not tell lies to gain attention, either.
But from what I have read of Mr. Gore's machinations and his ambitions, and the Carbon Credits scam he has set up that makes it a moneymaker to destroy the rainforests, and the utter hypocrisy of the huge concerts as people in Africa die for lack of small generators in the bush hospitals does not impress me at all..
Mr. Gore likes his money, his transportation, his many homes, and does not apparently live what he preaches for others.
Furthermore he is misleading the children of our country and presenting a very one-sided view on our global issues. Again, remember, one he PERSONALLY makes money off of having people believe.
Byderule, Jesus showed us it is not for the love of money that one should act, or for personal fame, but for the love of people. Especially the poor and downtrodden. He did not die rich and famous either, but left a legacy that has changed the world.
Al Gore is running for something...money and fame. Political tho does not seem to be too far from his mind. He mentions being the President for a while, so that ambition is not dead in him, tho it gets a laugh.
The Live Earth seems to be a feel-good place, since it used up a lot of energy into heat, and as far as I can tell, really did nothing effective to stop what Al Gore set up that is enriching himself and big companies, and keeping the poor poorer.
Look at the practical fruits of his policies and programs, and you will see where his heart really lies.
And I do not want to hear of the problems caused by fake Christians through the centuries. Anyone with half an eye can compare what these charlatans did with what Jesus taught, and see that they were faking and not at all following.
I would find Mr. Gore a lot more believable if he was actually helping the small guys and showing compassion, rather than working to the big crowds and setting up self-enrichment and self-glorification programs.
Stop and think what happens to the world if we all do as Mr. Gore DOES for himself, not as he preaches for others!!
And I think George W had the common sense (for once!) to stay away from yet another publicity stunt that made lots feel good, but got no generators to African hospitals, nor stopped the trafficing in Carbon Credits and the destruction of the rainforest and the eviction of the people from them into refugee camps. And consumed quite a lot of energy!!

think about it, he is not running around in a horse and buggy, but jetting around world. Living in a huge mansion using fossil fuel electricity. He only wants the little people (us) to give up our means of living, while he gets rich on his one man dooms day report.

Al Gore is a giant hypocrite. He tells others to cut back on all of these things (electricity, fossil fuels etc...) when his house and possessions have a "carbon footprint" several times larger than the average person's. Also, if electricity contributes to global warming, whose idea was it to have a GIANT CONCERT to raise awareness.
