They were S.O.L.

This is why our omniscient, unchanging God had to alter His rules and send Jesus to fix the flaw which They both had known about before time began.

Makes perfect sense, huh?

This is so stupid I don't think you deserve an answer. So in your mind Abel, Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Elisha, David, and countless others are not going to receive salvation in your world? You need to find a new church and some believers that teach the scripture. Try reading the book of John with an open mind.

There certainly was! If you would read the Bible , It tells all about how Jesus went to Hell for the Three days after death to Retrieve the ones that looked forward to His Coming. > Jesus said at that time " I Hold the KEYS to Heaven and Hell"! He Then Proved it, and Arose From THE GRAVE! ALIVE> You can read all about This in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament. Jesus did Just fine, and Still Is! Thank You Jesus, for Our Salvation!! + + +

Todd J is absolutely correct. Salvation existed before Christ came to this earth. Todd has quoted Genesis 15:6.

Jews sacrificed animals in hope of the Creator's forgiveness. The theory is that Jesus was the ultimate lamb and that there is not need for any more sacrifice.

The sacrificial system practiced by the Jews was a type. It pointed to Jesus (the anti type). They were saved then as now, by having faith in the coming Redeemer. JESUS. Unfortunately they lost sight of the true meaning of the service and it became a ritual, like a lot of churches of today.

Personally, I don't believe that Jesus is who saves us. I believe God saves us and God will be the Judge of what happens to us.

In the Quran it says:
2:62: Those who believe(in the Quran), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians-any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
-Quran-
2:82: But those who have faith and work Righteousness, they are companions of the garden: Therein shall they abide (For ever).
-Quran-

As long as you do good deeds you will be admitted into Paradise. God judges us for our good deeds and what we have done in this life. If you are a good person then you shall see God in Paradise. If you aren't then you will go to Hell.

So, before Jesus time, Moses came before Jesus so the people did Know of God and know of His commandments. So, if they were good they will go to Heaven.

Prior to Jesus's Death and resurrection, the Bible tells us of Saints. They went to the 'Bussom of Abraham'.
They knew and look towards the day of salvation, just as we look toward the reurrection.

The bodies go to the grave..for from dust you were made and to dust you return

The soul went to Paradise and waited for the work of Jesus to atone for sins, then as the others pointed out, he led captivity captive.
No-one went to heaven prior to the cross.
The soul came from GOD, and to GOD it returns.

There was a holding place for souls and upon the Messiah's death and Resurrection, they were released from the holding place. If the Messiah had not come then at our death, we would travel to the holding place and await His coming.
