Scared?, no!. For your information, the Police receive their calls from a dispatcher. They wouldn't run out of the station just to get to your house.

Your question seems to be creating quite a bit of confusion. I think the reason is because there are very different ways that various municipalities function. Some have the jail at the only police station in town. Some have many, many precincts and may transport all prisoners to a central jail. Remember, there is Mayberry to Chicago and everything in between.
To answer your quesion, from a guy who grew up in a big city where they did, indeed keep those they arrested in the local precinct until the morning, I would have to answer, that I would not fear a jail break since I have never heard of one occurring in that city ever. The people they have in custody will, for the most part, be freed on bond the next day anyway.

Most police stations have jail cells... however... they are typically only holding cells. Anyone convicted or doing time goes to a prison.
To answer the question I would feel safer living near a police station... most criminal activity does not happen near a police station and if someone did break lose from the police... my guess is they would be running as far as possible to get away... which would mean they would run right on by or that would be the hope.

I wouldnt be scared of a jail break. I live near a police station, not the county jail.

I literally live across the street from a federal prison and I don't feel scared or anything. But the facility is supposedly safer than Alcatraz... and if there was a jail break, the people would be killed or wounded before they made it near us.

I would rather live next to it than farther away. response time wouldnt be an issue, due to the fact when you call the police for an issue like 911 they send the nearest available officer, be it town, county or state police doesnt matter usually. if your refering to a prison again i wouldnt fear it. Odds are in the event of a "break out" you would know if your "next door" but even then i would expect the perps to hightail it as fast as possible to the next state/country ( i live near the canadian border) but then again most criminals will return to where they feel safest...HOME.....so no i wouldnt worry at all

A house near a police station is exciting because you could always go there and see all the drama everyday.

I wouldn't want to live close to a police station, since I would be very likely to get BS fines for minor traffic violations, jaywalking, being drunk, biking without a helmet, smoking weed in my backyard, etc. You know, the stupid laws designed to squeeze even more tax dollars out of the average Joe.

I live two blocks from the station, and it makes no difference what time they get to the area.
