My wedding couldn't have been smaller. It was my husband and I, the minister, and two close friends. Later we had a formal reception when the timing was better, but everthing was quaint and romantic. His parents did the same thing 28 years earlier.

The first time I went to a big wedding after that I had mixed emotions. It was actually the guest from our wedding getting married. At first I was a tad regretful, but that soon fell away when I really notice how scripted everything was, the schedule was strict. And I realized that our wedding was just that, our own.

I never regretted it again, I am actually glad we did it that way.

I had quite a big traditional wedding. It was my mother's idea. I refused to have a big wedding at the beginning but then I gave up. At the end I didn't regret it at all. I got to invite my relatives, friends, and co-workers. You need to consider your priority. If you can afford a big wedding and you want to then I suggest you to do it. If ou can't afford a big wedding then don't do it. I see a lot of people fall into debt right after they get married because the cost of the wedding way exceeds their budget. That is bad. You should never start a marriage or anything at all like that. You should do whatever makes you happy. I know that you might regret your decision but the main idea of marriage is getting married to your soul mate. Somebody who you are in love with. Somebody who you will spend the rest of your life with. Good luck!

I had an average size wedding and the only thing I regretted was not being able to invite everyone I wanted because the families were so large. I would do it all over again it was fun, never regretted anything about it except had s a few friends from work mad that they couldn't come. But they got over it.

My mom had a short wedding...and a big wedding. She said that she prefered the short one because it was more personal and more beautiful and thoughtful because she knew that these were the people who really did care and wanted her to be happy. It was also better because she could talk to each individual guest and interact with more time with people you actually know and love. If you're looking for attention go with a big wedding, but if you're looking for a small, down to earth wedding with only the people that mean the most to you so it's more deep and symbolic, go with a small wedding.

We had a traditional church wedding, and hosted about 200 people for dinner, reception, dance, with full open bar. It was wonderful - we paid for it ourselves, about 25K and wouldn't have changed a thing. NO WAY would I, or we, have wanted to elope - believe weddings are family and community celebrations!

I'd love to have a HUGE wedding, but finances are restricting us on what to do and we are not taking out a loan to cover a few hours of one day. I'd rather take out a loan for a house or a car than my wedding.

I am happy with our plans right now, it will be a smallish wedding with close family and friends.
