If they aren't awful and she is calm enough you can take a pair of scissors and carefully cut into it in the direction hair normally grows- this cuts the hair that is horizontally stuck and it can be gently brushed out.

Do you mean knots,or mats in her hair? You can call a groomer and have her shaved completely down. She will look a little funny for a while, but it won't hurt her like trying to comb them out would. Then, after she's been shaved, just brush and comb her at least every other day. That way, she'll stay knot - free! Or,you can keep her in a "puppy cut" which is when the hair is left at about two inches in length all over.It looks cute,it keeps her warm enough for winter, and it's easier to comb.

I'm guessing you mean matts? take her to a professional groomer. she will need to go about every 6 weeks - & you will need to do a lot of grooming in between. please don't try to do this yourself. it will be torture for her
they are very high maintence dogs.
you need to clean & treat her ears at least once a week too.

it could be fat knots but to be safe you should ask your vet and they will tell you if you should be worried about them or not.
Or it could be matted hair. then you just need to have your dog groomed.
