of reading the answers of Christians on this R & S . No matter what you ask, the answer is always the same--it's their way or nothing. Are there any Christians out there that can give an answer that is thoughtful, intelligent and sensible to a serious intelligent question? Can a Christian think outside the box?

Fisher Of Men---are you serious? Do you really think that God doesn't want you to think outside the box? Does God want a bunch of clones that can't think for themselves? This is exactly the narrow-minded, thoughtless answer that is repeated over and over again on this site. I was asking for intelligent, thoughtful resposes and you gave me the same old rhetoric. Is it just too much trouble to think about your responses or have the Christians gotten lazy and find it easier to just give the same old pat answers?

Anyone convinced they have all the answers does not have the intellectual fortitude to question anything. They think they are finished with all of that. They dont see it as a copout. They are satisfied with their answer and cant understand why you wont be.

Yes sir, yes sir. Three bags full.

I do as well and try to avoid those questions that are only going to set Xtians off on a rant quoting long paragraphs of Bible verses without them ever having a clue what they're actually saying. There are too many who come in here trying to convert people by telling them they're going to burn in hell or that they'll pray for them... give me a break. My stance is that we make our own heavens and hells and there is no use arguing about it in here because in reality no one has all the answers and it is not anyone's job to come in and convert the masses. What they don't understand is the more you force something on someone, the more resistance they are going to put forth and that just breeds arguments and arrogance. It isn't needed.

CHRISTIANS: If someone ASKS you to pray for them, or ASKS you to help them find Jesus, then by all means feel free to spout forth your preaching. But if not, please keep your dogma to yourselves.

Hi wbusykat4. I'm not sure what you are looking for in answers from Christians. You advise us to "think outside the box" God commands us not to. God assures us Christ is always the same in Hebrews 13:8-9:

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein."

False Gospels get started when people start looking other than the Bible for God's Holy word. God warns us very clearly about those who lust after strange doctrine in 2 Timothy 4:3:

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

If you are bored with hearing about God I suggest you pray to Him to open your eyes to the true Gospel. God wants us to pray to Him. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 He tells us:

"Pray without ceasing. 18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Give thanks to God.

Edit--

Yes, God wants us to use the Bible to spread the Gospel. Those who are unsaved are offended when we as Christians quote the Bible to spread His word. After all it is His words we are using not our own. The apostle Stephen was asked to defend the Gospel of Jesus Christ and began reciting the history of Israel, and he was stoned to death. (Acts Chapter 7)

Yes the path to Salvation is narrow and God tells us this is true in Matthew 7:13-14:

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

In Matthew 7:15 God tells us why He doesn't want us to think 'outside the box' :

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

There are people who think 'outside the box' when it comes to God. But the truth is these people only want the Lord on their terms, not Gods.

More disappointed than anything.

For a group of people who talk about love, they sure bash the fudge out of atheists, agnostics and Catholics
