Have you ever posted on a forum to express your opinion or in response to a previous post only to have somone reply by calling you stupid or swearing at you?
Anyone else find this annoying and cowardly? I feel these idiots who do this are hiding behind the internet. I used to get really pissed but now I just ignore these idiots.
Honestly I don't understand why people do this. If someone swore at me in person or called me names, they would get smacked. But online I see no reason to respond to this because it is stupid and childish. Doing so would only lower you to their level.

Anyone who has to resort to abusive language is admitting that that have no logical argument to oppose your views.
No matter how ridiculous you think someone's ideas are you should let them be heard. That way they can be argued for and against. The truth will emerge and the silly idea will be defeated.

Did you ever see the posts under the "discuss" option that Yahoo! news articles used to have? They had to remove the option because they were so childish and stupid. I never saw a single intelligent post regarding any news article. Youtube comments are almost as bad.
Internet anonymity brings out the worst in people.

It's a break down of a little thing called common courtesy in society as a whole. Why are you putting this tag on only the GAY forum? It's just another veiled attack. I suggest you search the other forums, or better yet, simply turn on your television.

Just report them and don't respond to them. If someone is rude, then in my book they deserve a rude answer in return. Otherwise, they should just ignore the idiot who swore at them and get rid of them.
I wouldn't worry too much, they're probably on here swearing at and abusing people because they don't have any real friends lol!

I got so upset about this type of thing that I recently had to stop participating in a local forum. My blood pressure was getting too high and those idiots are just not worth my time or effort.

I am with you. I just try to ignore them. Intelligent people discuss facts, ignorant people want to discuss people and rant and rave about absolutely nothing. Then there are those that want to turn everything into a racial holocaust. Those are the sickos, but I guess that is how they live and that is natural to them. It just lets you know that there are truly some sick people out there.

I dont insult someone unless i can counter their lack of intelligence with mine....as for profanity, i use it as much as normally would in a conversation with my friends.
