I remeber a parable when moenyw as given to two men.
The first invested it and did well, the second buried it.
When jesus came to see how they did, the man who made money was praised; the one who did nothing was cursed.
Thus the impression God favors the rich

People in our day have an odd idea of what a blessing is...if scripture is rightly understood, you can easily grasp the understanding that riches are or rather most likely WILL be a stumbling block.
God gives wealth on occasion, but of course there is a RESPONSIBILITY attached with it.
People in our time seem to think it's all for them, only for them.
That buys into the twisted capitalistic mindset.
Then, you have people preaching garbage like that "Jabez" cult following, because it tells people what they want to hear.

Jesus was ask by a rich man[ a Jew] Master what must I do to go to heaven , I already do all the things that under the law ,,,, JESUS told him there is one more thing you must do and that is to give up all your riches and follow me... the man just went on his way cause he had alot.. so then JESUS said it much easier for a camel to go Thur a needle than a rich man to go into heaven...remember

The Lord blessed certain ones with riches because He could trust them with it... Some of us may get rich and forget all about God.. our riches becomes our god and our heart becomes filled with the anxieties of life and the deceitfulness of riches.. The parable of the Sower and the seed shows something noteworthy.
Some seed ( word of God) fell on hard ground..some fell on stony ground..some fell on soil where thorns grew.. these thorns choke out the life seed and utterly kill it. Thats what riches does to us if we are not careful. And its not just rich people who think of money.. infact. poor people think more of money than the rich do.
God blesses Who He chooses to bless..some of the riches people get may NOT always come from the Lord..it could be their own drive to be something in this life and attain treasures on this earth..The rich man in the bible counted his riches as worthy.. but it had NO eternal weight..
As christians we should " let the word of Christ dwell in us richly"
We should know the boundless unsurpassing riches of Christ as our inner substance and virtues.
These unseen riches are the ones of real eternal weight and value in the eyes of God.
When we open our mouths do we deposit more of the Word into those around us? Or are we dried up inwardly and have no reservoir of the words of life dwelling in us....
May we open our hearts up to the Lord..And may He truly pull up all the thorns in our being ..so that His word.. as the seed of Life can take root.. grow upward. spread and mature for the Growth and Glory of God in our hearts...
" that Christ may make home in our hearts through faith"

I thought Jesus said that it would be harder for camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.

Three spiritual leaders; at the funeral of a generous patron to each of their causes. The priest tossed a 1,000.00 bill into the the burial pit, the Evangalist had a dump truck deposit 10,000.00 in pennies. The Rabbi took out his master card and tossed it in the pit saying this will not be without interest.

God blessed many people with wealth throughout the old testament...
Some examples:
Proverbs 13:11, "Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase."
Deut. 8:18, "But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth..."
Job, Solomon, David, Abraham...God gave materials rewards to many men.
The NT testament also talks of earthly (and heavenly) rewards for loving and honoring the Lord. ...and if a person believes that his or her talents and abilities are a gift from God and that by doing what he wants them to do, they earn material rewards, what is wrong with giving him the credit for those rewards?
The story about the rich man isn't condemning the man for his riches but for his attachment to them. Money itself isn't the root of all evil, the love of money is the problem!

Any endowment a person has in this world is from God. But that doesn't mean that person is loved by God. God gives this world to those whom He loves and those whom He does not love. But He gives Paradise only to those whom He loves.

You think that God blessed them? Satin did, to keep them away from God. Satin does this all the time in our church and God test us, to see which way we will go. God will lift yopu up if you do his will. You will have less problems with God, than on your own.
