"It is well to remind Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day (Sunday) observe a commandment of the Catholic Church"
Priest Brody, in an address reported in the Elizabeth, N.J. News of March 18,1903.

i find there to be truth in that, cause Saturday is the true Sabbath and the Catholics know it, but they are the ones who changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday because the Emperior Constitine thought God gave him the permission to change that day simply cause Jesus arose on Sunday the first day of the week .

Just for the record: An individual Catholic Priest cannot 'speak' for the Church. Faith and Morals are the venue of the Holy Father and Rome.
Although I do agree with the reported words of Fr. Brody. There are many issues not mentioned in the Bible that the Church commands.
Follow all the teachings of the Catholic Church to go to Heaven.

So what? Is the Catholic Church saying that it's a sin to worship on Sunday?
Exodus 35:1-2 (KJV)
1 And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them.
2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
The seventh day is a holy day in which we worship. What's sinful about that?

Actually the Bible does not support Catholic's anywhere in their observance of Sunday. In fact you see the early Christians, such as Peter and Paul preaching on those days. That means they weren't real Catholics either!
Oh nose!
Really what does the day someone worships have to do with eternal salvation? "I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No one comes to the Father except through me". Jesus doesn't say here or anywhere that...oh and you must be Catholic and worship on Sunday.
I'm going to go with Jesus on this one over the Catholic pope.

There was no significant christianity in the West outside of the Roman Catholic church until years after Martin Luther nailed his little missive on the door.
It's no wonder that all the fragmentation in the past few hundred years have been centered around escaping from, or trying not to be like, the Roman Catholic church.
In another thousand years, Christianity won't be recognizable.

Sunday worship is not a catholic tradition you can find the disciples gathering and worshiping on Sunday in the scriptures. The catholic church has made it the sabbath day that is not part of scripture. There is a difference between worship on Sunday and treating it as a sabbath day. Christians can and should worship and gather every day of the week but the sabbath will always be the first day of the week sat....

Well, considering the roots of the Protestant faith, the Catholics have a point. They have lots of points. They don't necessarily hold the truth, however. I enjoy the Mass, and I enjoy the unity that they have. Nothing wrong at all with much of what they do. But this battle has been fought long before 1903. The Belgic Confession, article 29, describes the false Church: "it ascribes more power and authority to itself and its ordinances than to the word of God, and will not submit itself to the yoke of Christ... it relies more upon men than upon Christ; and persecutes those who live holily according to the word of God and rebuke it for its errors, covetousness, and idolatry."

Sounds like they are trying to take the Glory of God for themselves! It was established in Genesis that God created Heaven and Earth, He took six days to make Earth and the seventh day He saw that all was good and rested. Further in the Bible, when He delivered the people of Israel from Egypt, He commmanded Moses to tell all the people to work everyday except the sabbath day(7th,Sunday). Catholics like taking credit for many things when they should just be focused on sharing the good news God set out for us to do.That is the real purpose of us being here.I think this statement is VANITY!

Actually Sunday is the first day of the week, the Sabbath is to be on the seventh day of the week.
It does NOT matter what day we choose to worship God, as long as we do it and observe the Bibles teachings.

Consider the date 1903. A lot has changed since that time. In the early 1900's the different churches squabbled among themselves trying to decipher which was better. Today, we have learned to celebrate the diversity and have an appreciation for all Christian faiths. Today the Christian faith, well most of them, have moved to a more Unitarian approach to religion. One of appreciation for the diversity.
