i straightened my hair once with an at home product

it worked good probably for about a month at least
i remember it was so straight and smooth

but now i just straighten my hair with a Chi iron, its the best

if I were you I would go to a salon that has Chi irons and ask if they will show you how good they are. they should do this, because they want to sell them. if not then ask if they can trim your hair and then use the chi iron to see if you like it.

you will i promise
mine was about $150 but its so worth it because I paid that $150 one time and i can straighten my hair whenever i want. or i can still fix it curly

Before you get your hair straightened you should spend time getting to know your operator, and having him or her get to know you, your goals for your hair, and answering the questions you have asked here.

1) It last as long as the hair is on your head. Your hair has been chemically changed.

2)There is no maintenance to keeping it straight, but it's the most caustic chemical that can be put on hair, so regular conditioning is necesssary.

3) No, you can still do a LOT with your hair in a variety of styles. You can stop the processing at less than perfectly straight to maintain more of your natural body. Then when you want the perfectly straight hair, you can use flat irons and curling irons to get different styles.

you're able to do curler contraptions or perm rods for curls. you additionally can do straw contraptions (atleast there are a number of naturals who do -- unsure how properly it may paintings on comfortable hair) to get reeally small, organic-looking curls. or you could placed your hair in twists or braids, then take them right down to get a wavy look. Transitioning to organic hair is likewise an selection, that's what i've got executed. you could blow dry/iron your hair at cutting-edge in case you prefer, and then placed on it of course curly once you prefer.

If I were you I wouldn't do it. A girl I know did it and her hair looked like straw.
