"Too much"? Every little bit adds up. That 10%+ can result in a HUGE bottom line.

No, none of my pastors are driving any kind of luxury car, and I don't think you thought out your last question. the definition of a tithe, is 10%... it is impossible to tithe too much... either you give 10%, or you don't. if you give more then it's NOT tithing... it's called many things, but one would be a thanks offering.

For Example: If I made $2,435 in June, then a tithe, would be... $243.50 for the month. If I gave $253.50 then I'd be tithing PLUS giving $10 extra dollars as a thanks offering, or whatever.
Though, if I gave only $100.00 then I'd not even be tithing.

I do understand what you're saying though. I don't give too much. I wish I could give more though.

To assume that the good fortune of a pastor, or any member of a church is in some way born out of the deviance of money and greed would not be Christian.

It is true that money has taken a hold of people, even people we look to for guidance and we trust.

I'd like to think that in today's world, a pastor with a nice car is just a blessed man, and it's good to see someone who does so much for others and their community, being rewarded in any way possible.

Some would argue the love of God and the respect of their brethren is enough, and while that is true, God does not scorn us for enjoying material items; rather for worshipping them.

Do not worry about where your tithing goes. Use the analogy of a homeless person situation. You give money to the homeless man, even knowing full well he may run off and buy drugs with your charity. However the important thing was that you gave, that you were generous. And, if he did use it for something positive, like food or shelter, then all the more better.

If you look for negative things, you will find them, anywhere and everywhere, pessimism is a sin.

Not yet, but just like everyone else doing a good JOB, he deserves one if he desires one. Its a MATERIAL POSSESSION. Gheesh.

I tithe 10%. That is the definition of a tithe. No such thing as tithing "too much" unless you're really bad at math and can't find a glossary.

"Will a man rob God?"

Yep, if he doesn't pay 10% plus offering.

I was walking along the sidewalk and a Mercedes S class rolled up. It slowed down and stopped right next to me. As the tinted windows came down I almost expected to see the Godfather, but instead saw my paster. He gestured for me to come closer. Then asked me a question....

I trust the way my church use the money we give them. It is also openly available for us to see how they use the money.

It is not really my business what kind of car my pastors drive. I know they tithe their money.

Nope, the older men of my congregation drive sensible cars, do NOT get paid for their work within the congregation, and have outside jobs: custodian, mechanic, city workers, etc... I contribute what I can, as consistently as I can. “Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7

Acts 18:3, 4-describes the Apostle Paul as a tentmaker. He cared for his own material needs by working everyday.

Or a Ferrari or Lamborghini or Porsche. Those evangelists on TV seem to do ok. Who gets all the money that is sent in?
