Al, old chap, I am a humanist, and also an atheist, and I neither hate nor 'speak foolishly against' a god, any god. You see, gods do not exist, so why on earth would I, could I, speak 'against' something which simply isn't? I'll spare you the details of my life in theatre, film and television, of the coins in my jeans, etc., etc., but I will say that I seriously doubt that anyone you know leads a happier or more productive life than I do.

Of course they have hope, just because they don't believe in God/hate God doesn't make them a bad person who is 'condemned to a life of failure and misery'. That is just ridiculous, and wrong of people to say things like that.

Proverbs 16:25
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Proverbs13: 7There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
So the answer is yes they can be happy and productive too...but only for a while.
God bless.

The devil will provide him a sense of happiness, but one can only be truly happy with God. One so foolish to hate God will believe the fake, temporary "happiness" delivered by Satan but this is only a fleeting and temporary feeling of happiness not a true, spiritual happiness.
No, I don't believed he will be condemned to failure or misery because the devil will make sure of a degree of happiness otherwise the person might turn to God.

Many of the richest & most productive people are highly anti-God.
Many people who are poor and the world would consider failures love Jesus with their whole heart.

Matt 24-25
1 & 2 Thes
When Jesus returns and judges each person then the righteous will be greatly rewarded and those who rebelled and hated God will get there reward.

does anybody really hate god?
i think people who dont believe in god dont like religious people because of all the suffering and damage religion has done in the history of the world
eg.
the mass genocides
in
australia
africa
north america
polenesia
south east asia
south america....and so on
were all supported by christian missionaries who built places of worship at these countries after they collonised them and slaughtered most of the native people
but back to the original question
how can they hate something that to them does not exist?

Sure he can. All he has to do is follow Satan and he will live in bliss and ignorance until the day his eyes are opened and then he will see that his life was really full of misery and dispare.

Most people do not hate god. Just do not believe there is a god. People of all walks of life can have a good life. It is all in your mind. Not in a book called the bible.

Hates God, no.
Hates anyone? To that extent, no.
We aren't made to suffer. Most of that is a side-effect of our very strange ways of dealing with reality.
We are made to be happy. It's our natural state.
Happiness does not decide productivity, either.
