There's a waterstain (it looks like a ghost) under the expressway near my house and there was some religious who-haa about it. People (mostly latinos) came from miles around to pray and give flowers and light candles and whatnot. It was all over the news and was very serious.

Now, some time has passed and I never see anyone there. There is a shrine of plastic flowers and a grouping of long burned out candles. The waterstain is still there.

Do you think it was wrong for these people to abandon "Our Lady of Lime Deposit" like that?

I guess people are looking for a sign. They saw what they wanted/needed to see in this water stain and moved on--no doubt looking for other signs of God. God lives within us and when these seekers understand that, they can be at peace and stop exhausting themselves by searching for a sign. Blessings!

Mary was never created for worship or prayer. She just was Gods chosen one. People are only to worship Jesus/God because God is a just God who is jeolous and above all in the world.

People are to pray only to God, not nor ever the virgin Mary

Nope, never heard of it. But it's an odd phrase, and it probably will stick with me for a few moments.
