We did the same thing. We found a friend who was very knowledgable in music, and he knew what we wanted and found tons of stuff. For dancing, get a few songs that are fun, like edited rap. It has to be somewhat family friendly I imagine, as most weddings are.
Pick out your favorite bands. Go searching their catalog for songs that will be appropriate (Smashing Pumpkins, for example, "Beautiful"). There are other artistis that have low key but cool long songs, like Eric Clapton, the Eagles, etc. Go with what you like and start searching the net.
Good luck, and remember to let your wedding reflect you as a couple. We had everything for Eric Clapton to Elton John to Jay-z to the Smashing Pumpkins.

I suggest getting a friend or pay for a DJ, sometime you can find someone out there that just will do it. They will know what to play when and you don't have to worry about a thing. It's much more fun when you have no planning of every song and let the DJ play all request. DJ's are adaptable so they can do it the way you want or go with a bit more tradition in your home settings.

Sure you'll be able to. Just prefer songs or organizations that experience a equivalent sound. The essential factor approximately the cocktail hour tune that I've spotted is the quantity, now not the songs themselves so long as the songs don't seem to be potentially objectionable. It's meant to be history tune, in contrast to while the dance flooring is open and tune is the cognizance. As lengthy because the tune is at history quantity, I could placed in combination the tune you and your fiance revel in. After all, your marriage ceremony is meant to be approximately the 2 of you is not it? I could consider cautiously approximately track resolution regardless that. I will by no means put out of your mind the appear of horror at the faces of the older crowd (sixty five+) at a peers marriage ceremony after they learned the cocktail hour tune used to be announcing "*****, Slut, Hoe, and so on..." They had simply given the DJ a record of albums to drag from, and forgot to say that he is not going to play specific tracks. Whoops...

I just mad e a cd of songs that hsi family would like and songs that my family would like. I mixed all me and my husbands love songs and incorporated it into dinner and dance music. Then all the up tempo dance music i got ideas from each family member and work it from there.
