i am an ex-catholic, but the catholic church still considers me to be catholic, therefore I guess I am qualified to answer your question.
I disagree with the pope. The catholic church does not follow the bible. pray to saints, pray to Mary, forbid priests to marry, etc..........Jn 12:47-48

The document released by the Vatican and approved by the Pope was referring to the Catholic Church as being the church actually started by Jesus through Peter.
"The document said that the Second Vatican Council’s opening to other faiths – including “ecclesial communities originating with the Reformation” – had recognized there were “many elements of sanctification and truth” in other Christian denominations, but had also emphasized that only Catholicism was fully Christ’s Church."
Now to answer your question. Yes, as a Catholic I do believe that the Catholic church is the one started by Christ. I also believe that God makes the final decision as to who will be in heaven and he instructed me to love not judge so that is how I live.

Here is the full text of the new document that states nothing new: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070629_responsa-quaestiones_en.html
Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.
While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:
Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.
Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.
All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

There is only one church, one Christ. There are other churches within this church, but there is only one faith and one baptism. You know this is a mainly tolerant and peaceful christian community for the most part. The pope even meets with Jewish and Muslim leaders! Imagine that.

I do. Heck, I agreed before I became Catholic. That is why I converted in 1999.

Absolutely none, it was his religion that crucified Christ! And told Jesus that he was a blasphemy, and whipped him, stabbed him!
