I am a cop and I keep having dreams of killing people to help someone or to save someone. I want to know what does this mean.

I am a cop, I understand this is part of my job and i dont mind what i have to do. I do what i have to do, if that means to protect another then i will. But why do i have these dreams. I am not a crazy person i reason with people, i've done that all my life.

It depends what "school of thought" you come from in psycology... one is that death in dreams isn't death, but rather "change" -- also, a professor in college once told me that no one can really interpret someone's dream except themselves, as they are the authors and in a person's heart, they know why they dream what they do.
Cheers.

Are you a cop in real life or just in your dreams?
That's important information.
The best I can explain this is your awareness that the 'bad' people are ruining it for the 'good' people. At first it seems simplistic, but at the core of every problem in the world is that one person who just can't stand peace and has to ruin it for the rest of us, and you seem to be able to identify that person or those people and seem to believe that true peace will be restored when the bad people are removed from the scene.
Unfortunately, you are not the one to take away another person's freedom of choice. Taking away everyone's freedom of choice is not the answer to the problems of the world today, and 'killing the bad people' is not the answer, either.
You may also feel that you need to sacrifice something in order to gain something else in your life. If you are a real police officer, I can understand how this moral dilemma comes up every day.
One thing you can do is learn to forgive the small stuff. I know this sounds crazy, but learning to forgive small stuff makes it easier to forgive bigger stuff later on. Letting go of the stress will help balance out your daily moral decisions and will help you have different, better dreams at night.
Good luck

First of all, DO NOT capitalize the first letter of every word. It bad grammar and almost as annoying to read as all caps. Second, you need to stop watching so many Batman movies. Over time they consume you and end up in your dreams. You're ok, but you need to find something else to occupy your time. Go outside, hang with friends and family, play a sport or better yet, read a book! And not a comic book.

" to endeavor to pacify suffering ones, denotes that you will be loved for your sweetness of disposition" taken from the book:
10,000 Dreams Interpreted by Gustavus Hindman Miller.
In other words... You are a good man doing a great job ! You'll soon find happiness in your life even if you don't actually shoot anyone.
Psychologists agree almost on nothing these days... but the mainframe thought about killing anyone to save others is interpreted as a lack of adherence to a group, or a feeling that you ( or your work) are underestimated.
Be confident... We the normal Joe's of society are thankfull of your work.

Is your life stressful lately? Things at work got you a bit wound up? Sounds very much to me like you're just going over your day in your sleep, which we tend to do when we haven't quite worked out something that bothers us or that we can do anything about. Meaning, yeah, you excepted that you have to do what you have to do, but deep down, do you really *Like* having to do it?
That's what it sounds like to me.

I think you are either conflicted about your work..or..you have a decision to make about something in your life and you are putting off doing it.It is represented in your dream as part of your daily life (killing one to save another).or having to "choose"

well the best way to analyize your dreams. is to think of, when this event happens, that you kill some to save others, what emotion are you feeling? and have you felt this emotion recently in your real life? if so, thats probably waht its about.

Isn't that what cops do? They kill people under the guise of saving people? It's true isn't it?
