Uh i'm having trouble with parallel parking but i know the only solution is to just practice. Anyway how many inches away from the curb do u need to be? I heard it is 6, but can it be less or a little more? Also i know it depends on who ur tester is, but how strict are they on how close u are to the curb.

Do not believe that the tester goes out with a tape measure to see the distance one is parked from the curb. You are correct in saying that it will take practice!! The tester is only observing one thing...(at what comfort level you are when you park and If you "hit" cones they will have set up (or actual vehicles) when I took my test plus - do not "hit the curb" when you parallel park and do not have your vehicle obstructing the road i.e. Parking too far out into the street as others cannot see around your vehicle. You will be fine!!! Just practice, take a deep breath and go for the Gold!!!

Normally you must be no more than 12 inches from the curb when you park your car.

Don't worry about exact distance. The important part is being centered in the space.

Look at your book. Study. Know. Learn. Good luck, and drive safely.
