I know by law the guy can go to jail. But I'm talking about "real life" here. What do they actually do? Does the guy actually goes to jail if the parents don't report it or what?

If the parents don't report it, then I know three people that should be going to jail.

Unless someone brings charges, the man will not be incarcerated. The girl, her parents, his parents, or a knowledgeable party must bring charges. If the man marries the woman and raises the child, it may not be in the best interest of the family to have the father in jail. If he abandons the girl and the baby, the family needs to prove paternity so that he can be held financially responsible for the baby, even if he does not go to jail. The state can garnish his wages and have him pay support until the child is of legal age. This will help the girl in the event she decides to keep the baby.
If you know of this situation, you should strongly encourage the girl or her parents to resolve whether they want the man in the child's life, if they are giving up the baby for adoption, or what they plan to do. Either way, he should take responsibility for his actions, or have ther responsibility thrust upon him.

First of all, it takes two. It is not just the guy that caused this. Most girls this age, really egg it on. Some fifteen year old girls , cause the boy to have sex with them. It is not just the guys fault. As a parent , I would first blame my daughter. What good does it do, for a parent to send the boy to jail ? It is just as much the girls fault, as the boys. If you were 21, then if the parents wanted to, they could get you for child sex abuse. BUT, your only 19 and a 15 year old trapped you. Too bad.

If someone reports it to the police the guy will be charged with statutory rape and go to jail. Whether the girl's parents report it has a lot to do with how they feel about the guy and whatever decision the couple is making about how to deal with an unintended pregnancy.

She will be taken to a hospital to give birth, right? The doctors will inquire her age. Even if the parents don't report him, medical personal will. They are required to do so by law. Hopefully, it all will be worked out somehow because there is not much child support possibility if he is in prison.

If the parents don't report it, they are idiots. Of course, if they let their minor child date an adult, they should be locked up too.

As for the deadbeat 19 year old, he can go to jail - he is a child molester.

And, he will pay child support for the next 20 years or so......

ive seen too many 16 yr old dummies drivin in their car, cell phone attached to their ear, swervin lanes and riskin thier own life AS WELL AS every other driver. thats a direct threat to my familys personal safety. yet the state says that becuase theyre 16, they are responsible enough to drive a car. WHY IS A KNUCKLEHEAD 16 YR OLD RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO ENDANGER MY LIFE ON A DAILY BASIS, YET A 20 YR OLD HAS TO GO TO PRISON FOR HAVIN SEX WITH HER?

IF SHES RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO DRIVE A CAR AND RISK MY FAMILY'S SAFTEY, SHES RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO GET KNOCKED UP AND SUFFER THOSE CONSEQUENCES WITHOUT ANYONE GOIN TO JAIL........

AM I WRONG ABOUT THIS?

i understand ur situation is a 15 yr old, but realistically they are both high school aged so...

This happened to my brothers best friend. He spent almost 10 years in prison for statutory rape. That is REAL LIFE INFO.

He lived with the girl and her mother and was helping raise the child with them. He ticked her mom off, she reported him to the police and he went to prison.

In TX, if a child is under 17 and the other party is more than 3 years older, then they have committed Indecency with a Child. It does not matter if they got them pregnant or not, just the simple act of having sex with them is a crime.

Romeo is going to do some hard time. He'll be out in time for for junior's 5th birthday, may 3rd for good behavior!

Should wait until Juliet is 18, less then that then it's a tragedy.
