A soul is a body with the breath of life in it, when the breath of live leaves, it is no longer a soul. Genesis 2: 7; Joshua 11: 11; Joshua 20: 9; Psalms 49: 15; Psalms 89: 48;Phillipians 1: 27; just to name a few.

We have a body, spirit and a soul. The body you know about. The spirit is our connection to God. The soul is what makes you, you.

No... that is not safe to assume... I don't believe that cabbage has a soul.. nor micro organisms.... But even your basic assumption of either/or is assuming to much.

that's kind of creepy. think about a piece of bread having a soul. and you're eating it. inside it's screaming for you not to kill it but you do it anyway because you don't think it has a soul.
*shudder*. i'll just stick with the thought that only creatures have souls.
