I love it when my son hugs me and calls me shorty. He is 14 and almost 6'1". It has always been just him and I against the world and we are very close. He is pulling away from me now. Puberty has shifted his attention to male things. So the little hugs and teasing is so much more special to me now.

Usually the little things, as I try hard to pay attention to all that GOD does in my life. My daily miracle, as it were. I am now happy because I learned that your avatar is actually you covered in mud, age 2, by your brother.
And by the sound in your voice, in your detail, you have a good happy memory of this day, now.
Mostly it is hearing my sons voice.

I'm happy when I stand up for the Catholic Church, it's teaching and traditions. Because then it means I am standing up for Christ and His Almighty Father. If I can help one person better understand the Church or a biblical verse every couple of months or years, I'm happy. I pray that I can do more as I grow older and wiser. And I pray that I grow stronger each day in my faith and that my love in God becomes greater all the time. That would make me the happiest.

Peace and God bless!

Seeing The Police in concert at Churchill Downs.

Just got back from my trip to Kentucky for the concert. There's nothing like seeing Sting's face on five gigantic screens.

The concert f'ing ruled.

Being in a state of true worship, and knowing that God is right there. The fact that I take less time than I should giving Him the worship He deserves is to my shame. I sometimes feel my heart bursting with joy over my grandchildren or my family,[even my horses] but that is gratitude for what He has given me, not my gratitude for who He is.
Edit: Oh yeah, raid time, or whatever. Is it time yet?

Only I can make myself happy. "If what you seek you find not within, you will NEVER find it without" (An old Wiccan bit of wisdom). However What do I allow myself to be happy about??

Many things make me happy. Being with someone that I love -- family, friend, my boyfriend -- makes me fill my heart with happiness. Having a wonderful meal. Music. A child's laugh. Seeing the beauty of nature for what it is -- God's creation and His artwork. What makes me joyful is a different thing. Nothing makes me more joy-filled than being in the presence of God. Nothing in the world compares to worshiping him.

dhikr..... it's a practice in Islam where you recite God's attributes and read scripture with a group of people. i went to my first dhikr recently and truly i've never left a place so happy. There's something built into our beings that makes praising God such a wonderful feeling, in my opinion. :)

a man in the family of the prophet(pbuh) once said, "if the non-believers knew how much joy we took from praising God, they would try to take it away from us."

Peace and blessings,
Sakina
