Why is it that everybody has to argue over religion? Why does it have to be that this religion is right, but this one is wrong? Nobody was alive back then. My beliefs are just that--MY beliefs. And your beliefs are YOUR beliefs. Does anybody else but me wish we could all just let each live and let live?
Actually I have another question as well...I just got in an argument on another forum over the Holy Trinity and whether or not Jesus created the earth. I say no, said very clearly that it was MY opinion, how *I* saw things, they tell me I must be stupid and it very clearly stated in... blah blah blah.
So, I thought I'd ask... what do you believe? Did Jesus create the earth?

Personally, I believe that God created the earth, and that Jesus couldn't possibly have, because he wasn't born then. He wasn't even the first man. Adam was.
BTW... I'm sorry, but no, just b/c I read and believe in the bible doesn't mean I have no choice but to believe Jesus created the earth, b/c even the bible is up to interpretation. That's YOUR opinion. I asked for YOUR opinion, please don't tell me what MINE is.

Thank you very much to every one of you who quoted the bible. I still believe that every one of those is up to the individual's interpretation, which was my point to the person I was arguing with, but I thank you all for taking the time to quote them, as it was very nice to see what everyone bases their opinions on.
I'm going to get you guys decide whose answer is best on this one, as I couldn't possibly decide from all of these which answer was the best.
Love and light to all!!

oooh, to the first gal... just so it's obvious... I asked b/c I'm only just now beginning to study my chosen religion. I didn't grow up with religion, in fact, I was forbidden to study the bible by my step-father.

Yes, Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God and all 3 were at creation and are considered the Creator. Jesus said, "I and the Father are One." The Bible says "God is spirit and a consuming fire." The Bible says, "The Holy Spirit will teach us all things, convict us and the Holy Spirit is the comforter.
Not only is Jesus God but also the Son of God and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity are One and Three. The Bible tells us that Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. The image of God is only seen in Jesus Christ. No man has ever seen God the Father and lived.
Don't feel bad. This is hard for the very learned Christians to understand even after studying thoroughly the entire Word of God, the Holy Bible. You aren't stupid and don't let anyone offend you. Time and time again, Jesus tells us that He is God and God is Him. The only way that we've ever seen God is seeing Jesus as the Son of God when He walked the earth.
Abraham saw God as the image of Jesus also. Jesus said "before Abraham was, I am."

The truth of the question can only be answered using God's word. The answer will be evident after reading the next few scriptures. Proverbs 8:22-31, Colossians 1:15-17, Revelation 3:14.
To understand that the Bible makes all truthful answers.
Man can find the truth if he allows the scriptures to be all authority in any matter, that they are backed by God. 2 Timothy 3:16
(2 Peter 1:20-21) . . .For YOU know this first, that no prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. 21 For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.

Maybe if you asked a straight question, instead of trying to be ridiculously condescending, people would take you seriously. You have merely given your interpretation (really, misinterpretation) of what we believe and teach. Then you have created a psuedo "contradiction" where none exists. Read your Bible, John 1:3 or Colossians 1:16, especially in the Greek text. It shows clearly that Jesus was God's agent in creation. There is abolutely no verse in the Bible that says Jesus is God or some "different manifestation of God." You can believe that, but it is not supported by the Bible anywhere. You don't need "new light." You need to take off the fogged-up blinders of your anti-Witness bias. Seldom has a person looked so stupid trying to be smart.

Well, I'm getting in on this late and haven't read the other answers, just your questions and comments. But, my addition to this forum is that the entire decipherment of the Scriptures and all is up for discussion as from what I understand there are several translations to most of it. And, obviously many of the translaters were highly biased, they had an aim to promote their own personal beliefs. Just as the writings of Nostre Dames(sp) are a matter of interpretation. Exceedingly interesting none the less. In my understanding God created the Earth in 6 days, the seventh a day of rest. He later sent his son by Immaculate Conception through the Holy Spirit. Mary.

In my opinion there is one all mighty being split into three parts God is the main and Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost are the three parts. The father is God The Son is Jesus and the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God that lives within the people who have accepted God as their Savior.God and the three parts are one in the same so God,created the Earth, and the three parts of himwere included so yes jesus did create the Earth because He is a part of God.

God created the heavens and the earth and Jesus is His only begotten Son and you can't come to the Father except through the Son. That is my Christian belief and I would certainly never force that on anyone as it's a matter of choice.

God was made flesh ( Jesus Christ ) because flesh is sin the only way that God could remove our sins was to become flesh and be sacrifice himself for us, that is why there is no more sacrifice of animal, he was the ultimate and final sacrifice. So flesh Jesus was not in heaven to create it , but spirit Jesus was there as part of the Trinity (3, father, son, holy spirit) as I believe all spirits were at the beginning. After Jesus , God sent the Holy spirit to us.As long as you belive in God he doesn't pick on details, he will decide if you are a child of his, not anyone on earth.God Bless.

The Gospel of John tells us in chapter one verse 1 ff.: 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
So yes, Jesus made the earth. The Word (Logos) in this passage refers to Jesus.
Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last...his physical, earthly birth does not mean he didn't exist before that.
That is what I believe to be true. And I stand by it.
