If plurality of marriage is not true, then marriage for eternity is not true, and your faith is all in vain, and all the sealing ordinances and powers pertaining to marriage for eternity are vain, worthless, good for nothing; for as sure as one is true the other also must be true.
Orson Pratt is a very important Apostle to the LDS religion. How do you get to pick and choose which prophet/Apostle you want to believe? Joseph Smith was a polygamist, so why not follow his doctorine and what he commanded since he said it came straight from God?

Brother G The Mormon: How can a manifesto reverse such a sacred and important commandment? Again you are proving my point of the Mormon religion picking and choosing what best suits them. NOTHING Jesus said has wavered or changed. Christianity is the same as it was 2000 years ago and will never change. I notice a lot of Mormons aren't answering this question.

Orson, as far as what I can read about, was an ubermormon in every sense, but as a follower, more than leader. He's much like McConkie was, and if not for Brigham, would've been the biggest embarrassment to the church doctrine-wise.
Unfortunately the polygamy issue will simply not go away, and the church will always be remembered for that 'social experiment.'
That's a shame.

Hm mm... so we come to this life, get married and have children only in earth, then we die and NOTHING!!! everything will be gone? the, what's the point? It just makes not sense. Why are we alive? just to come and pass away, I don't think so. Definitely, sealings are not fake, families are for eternity! When we die, we are not done yet... we are not done overall.
Unless you're talking about the FLDS, the real LDS church doesn't allow Poligamy, anyone who does it will be kicked out of the church records, aka excommunicated.

Besides, he was saying this to THOSE members back then, NOT to us today. That's a fallacy of non-LDS Christians, that what was said THEN MUST hold true to everyone thruout eternity.
We don't get to pick and choose, we are told what God tells us.
