I have sent stuff to drivers to get autographed.Never a diecast though. The best rule of thumb is "If you cant live without it DONT mail it!!!!"Mail does get lost or damaged in transit and the driver, team, usps will not be responsible for lost/damaged items.Certain drivers and teams have quit accepting autograph requests due to backlogs.Last I heard Jr. is 2 years behind,so if you mail something to him be prepared for it to come back or sitting waiting for him to sign it for 2 years.Tony Stewart does not sign through the mail anymore (Big Backlog),Joe Gibbs does not sign through his team or the Redskins.Just be patient, the more popular the driver (Harvick Daytona 500 winner),the longer it will take to get your item back. The fastest response I got was from Sterling Marlin and it took about a week.Same goes for Bobbie and Donnie Allison.

Certain times of the year the drivers have an extra day or so to sign.On average 4 to 6 weeks is normal, but I,ve got things back in as little as 7 days and after 2 years get an item back unsigned and a "copy" of a form letter stating that the item could not be signed due to Licensing agreements

I don't know if the show is still on but NASCAR 360 a couple years ago was doing an episode on Kenny Wallace. During the show he visited his brother Rusty, Rusty was signing a bunch of stuff people sent in, and I remember him making a comment about how it takes a while but he always signs everything.
Look at it like this, it is not like you use this car, send it in. So what if it takes 3 weeks or 6 months, you will really appreciate the signature on it.

I have sent in diecasts to be signed. Some of them were just gone a month and some are still gone. It's been 3 months. If you send something off, make sure you allow for a postal increase on the package coming back to you. If it don't have enough postage on it, they will not send it back and you will lose your item.

I have sent several things to teams to be autographed. There are a few thins to do.
First if sending any thing include return postage.
Next if it is a "trading" card include a self addressed stamped envelope.
If you want a die cast signed it does not need to be in the box(the driver will not take it out of the box to signit he would sign the box) so take it out of its box and secure it in a shipping container.
Include a note requesting an autograph. And thank the driver for the his time in signing the item.
Also check with the fan club some of them have special autograph addresses.
Good luck on getting the autograph.

I think it would be alot more meaningful for you to get it signed personally. Just watch for races near you and appearances by him at businesses in that area or sometimes they sign at charity functions. You can also get things signed at their merchandise trailers....usually it will be posted friday or sat. morning and you will have to get in line at like 7 or 8 am sunday and get a ticket and then come back at like 10 0r 11am for the signing. I have met drivers on pit road, too, friday is the best day, although sometimes you get lucky on sunday right before the race when they are trying to herd everybody off pit road there will be a driver out giving an interview. Another way is to purchase hospitallity tickets for him. Maybe he does a fan appreciation days thing like Mark Martin does every year. Just some ideas.......its gonna mean alot more to you that way and you can probably get a pic with him and shake his hand that way. Good luck!

I never thought of doing that. I would go to a race, get pit passes, and try to get an autograph that way. Than you probably could get your picture taken with them.

When they did that story on Dale Jr, they showed him signing all his stuff. Brian Vickers too. I mean all these guys sign their stuff but it might take up to a year or so to get back, I mean it might take long but it's not like you use the die cast every day, so go for it!!! What 's the worst that could happen, they send it back?
