Obviously, a person can be "good," and kind, and such, without accepting God--some may argue that if there were, in fact a heaven, even these select few that have not accepted God would be worthy of a place in Heaven after being a good and kind person. Any ideas as to some of the people that would fit into this category?

Me. Definitely. ;)

Yeah, that's it; give me a thumbs-down for daring to think I deserve heaven!

Part of learning theory is reward and punishment. Unfortunately, the Christian God seems to ignore the reward part. focusing almost entirely on punishment.

Candidates for the non-religious who should be able to enter Heaven:

Everyone. Yes, even Hitler.

That is, as long as they change upon experiencing God directly. If they remain spiteful, harmful individuals, both to themselves and others, they are probably out of place. Instead of tossed into eternal torment without a second thought, however, they should be given their own little universe. If God is somehow loving despite its allowance of suffering in the current universe, it stands to reason that it could allow the "bad apples" to continue living here.

Really, none of this makes any sense for a God who is perfect, all-powerful, and all-knowing, but you asked... and I answered.

I would like to add, for the Christians' sake, that there are people who use the Bible to support the idea that there is no eternal suffering, merely a first and second death. After the first death, so it goes, the non-believers are given an opportunity to believe. If they reject it (I'm not sure why anyone would, but apparently Lucifer did, so...), they will face annihilation - the lake of fire. The devil, the beast, and something else will suffer forever there, but those who reject God will simply be consumed. This probably has something to do with angels being spiritual and humans being physical (yes, it has been offered that the human "soul" is essentially the body, which goes along with people being resurrected by God upon the second coming of Jesus). All in all, it's a lot better than the typical Christian thought, but still doesn't sit right with me...

Good question.
The premise that everyone goes to heaven is not correct.
According to Revelation [ 7;4...14;1...] only 144,000 have that privilege. And have a specific job to do there. not jus sit around on clouds playing harps.
(Revelation 20:6) Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.

those of the SECOND resurrection [ Rev. 20; 12,13] who agree to God's new system will have an EARTHLY future.
(Psalm 37:11) But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.

None religious isnt always 'none' religious. People have many religions with their own versions of heaven and hell, such as Valhalla or the promised lands.

Leave a person to wherever they want to go. There is no guarantee any one person is correct and the only time we will know, is if we are dead.

There is only way to heaven and that's told in the bible that the only way is through Jesus Christ our Lord. If you do no accept God, you will NEVER get into heaven. That is plain and simple. No way no how. So no matter what someone may think, they won't be going to heaven just cause they think they're good enough. Won't happen. And once you're sentenced to hell...there's no 2nd chance. The bible also says that we do NOT get to heaven by our works.

"....Those that accept Your (God's) qualities have peace and tranquility. Those who act with Your qualities, speech, words, and actions attain tranquility and find heaven in their own lives. O Lord of the universes, You are the One who created this condition. Everything praises You-the earth, sky, sun, moon, and all created beings, earth life, fire life, water life, air life, and ether life. O Mighty One, there is no other Lord like You. It is the One who has such power that we call the One God...."

If he didn't believe in God or the Bible then why would he want to go to a place he don't care in?
Why would God want people who don't accept him to be with him and his people in his heavenly kingdom?

Who is good?

(Mark 10:17-18) And as he was going out on his way, a certain man ran up and fell upon his knees before him and put the question to him: “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit everlasting life?” Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.

Does this good person do good for God's glory or his own?

EVERYone who dies goes directly to God. "To be absent from the flesh is to be present with the Lord". Faith without works is dead and works without faith is dead. Ya gotta have both when judgement day comes or Gods gonna look at you and say, "Get behind me for I never knew you". Geez, it dont take much....just a little acknowledgement to Him every once in awhile, maybe a "thank you" here and there for everything He's done for you - and you should know theres no suh thing as "luck", its a gift from Father. But its up to you. You can find out when you get there, I guess.

It is only God whose judgement matters. Accepting Him, as we understand it and believe, is a human requirement for entering Heaven. As humans, we are all incapable of viewing others through His eyes and compassion. He accepts that we are fallible, but to Him we are all worthy of Heaven.

Worthy is the Lamb--not me, or any other descendant of Adam. There is none who deserve to go to heaven. It will be purely by the grace of God that anyone makes it--and only through the forgiveness offered through the Lamb's sacrifice, Jesus.
