Only the christians freely issue that veiled threat to intimidate people and millions of those people, fearing for their after-life, succumbed to it.

No one needs to "think of" anything different, because God hasn't changed, nor will He ever change. The message has always been the same. So how is "free will" crap? The fact that you don't believe just proves our point that God gave everyone free will.

You don't believe because you don't open your heart to God, to try and understand what the Bible says. It's easier for you to mock than to take the responsibility of trying to believe. Christians tell you in the easiest terminology so that you might understand. It can't get much easier than that. So which part don't you understand? If you can't understand it, then maybe you should try reading the Bible on your own.

God said,

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

It looks to me like God gave us the freedom to choose, I would call that free will.

The Bible is full of examples where people made a choice to do other than the will of God, and the consequences of their actions.

Stormy K, I thought the Bible said 'Whosoever believes on Me shall have eternal life'. Didn't if find that somewhere?

Taken from John 3:14-16;
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Because maybe the truth isn't a game, and the "'free will' crap" is correct. Maybe because we don't know why God gave us choice and tried to make an answer that didn't exist and shouldn't be faked. You have me thinking... I think I still believe in the "'free will' crap." God's love is weird. I want to share an exert from a book that talks about how weird it is.
"...Even as I write those words, I can hear the 'concern' of those who worry about others misunderstanding the gospel. 'You're not suggesting, are you, that nothing matters to God? Certainly, God has standards!'
"What I am suggesting is that God's grace is so out of the lines of our understanding, that we can only stand in awe and wonder. Christianity isn't about learning to live(color) within the lines; Christianity is about the joy of coloring. The grace of God is preposterous enough to accept as beautiful a coloring that anyone else would reject as ugly. The grace of God sees beyond the scribbling to the heart of the scribbler- a scribbler who is similar to two thieves who hung beside Jesus. One of the two asked Jesus to please accept his scribbled and sloppy life into the kingdom... and He did. Preposterous. And very good news for the rest of us scribblers." -Dangerous Wonder by Mike Yaconelli

Actually it was genius. Not only has it survived more than 2,000 years but over 1 billion people currently believe it. I suppose you're right though. Jesus' plan wasn't smart enough considering the majority of the world doesn't believe in him or his fear mongering. This could be blamed on the Islamofacists because their fear mongering is based on reality while the Christian's is based on imaginary places that one goes to after death.

I understand how you feel. If I thought God kept people alive just to torture them I would not want to serve a God like that either.
God told Adam in the garden "for dust you are and to dust you will return" So non existance is what God promised for disobedience.
Only Satan said, "you won't really die at all"
God said "In the day you eat it you will die." God's days are longer than ours.

God is the same yesterday and today and forever .
God doesn't change ,just because people think , that He should be updated. I actually think that He is very up to date ,once you understand Him and His ways.

It's actually brilliant marketing. If you don't believe you are tortured for all eternity. What better way to make people afraid NOT to believe?
