It takes about an hour and 1/2 in the air and twice that long in the airport (security) and on the tarmac. You can almost get there by car faster than flying but its a lot more stress. 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other. Good luck and have fun! A little over 5 hours by car. Less at night.

Well it wil probably take 2 hours by plane or less because I myself have flown from los angeles to san francisco on my way to the Philippines.. why do you need to know?

If you depart at 7:40 AM, you arrive in LA at 9:07 AM. One hour and twenty-seven minutes.

Just under an hour and a half if it's nonstop, longer if it's direct or a connecting flight (but that would be dumb to do if you're flying from SF to LA).
