Now we got all the "blood for oil " idiot answers out of the way we can begin.

US forces are defending precious oil stocks from Chinese spheres of influence and/or chinese troop deployment in the future.
As global stocks dwindle, the game is on.Them or us.
I support us.
USA does not "steal" oil from Iraq.Jounrnalists and officials from all over the planet monitor the Iraq situation.

WMDs,a pretext for war? Yes.Probably.Of course Iraq DID have WMDs ,but one would be naive to believe this was the sole justification.
Unfortunately, the public wouldnt have accepted any other reason and pre-empting the chinese wouldnt have made good press.
So yes, our governments lied, but with good cause.
The fact that a rogue dictator has been removed, the Iraqis have a chance of democracy and we have a military leverage over Iran are all bonuses.
The middle east is just one big powder keg.Iran is developing nuclear capability and threaten to "wipe Israel from the map.",surely we need a stabilising presence within the middle east.
If we want an end to terrorism,to spread democracy and peace. If we want to prevent our ideological enemies seizing the initiative, then we must act.One cant make an omlette without breaking eggs.
He who controls the oil controls the global economy,he who controls the global economy rules the world.
Would anyone prefer that the communists or a communist Islamic alliance be our masters?
Evil thrives when good people do nothing.
Not all decisions that are beneficial are popular, especially when the truth cannot be revealed to a priveleged and short sighted public. In years to come Bush will be judged as a visionary.

It is troublesome just how cynical the world has become, Tony Bliar, an honest and dignified statesman, in collusion with G.W. Bush, probably the most loved president that the USA has produced in modern times, after prolonged study of intelligence reports, came to the joint conclusion that the dictator of Iraq, a mr. Hussain had told lies about his arms stockpiling, and worse, was hiding weapons of mass destruction.

These weapons of mass destruction (WMD's) were identified by our inscrutable intelligence services - Fine men and women! as being biological and chemical in nature and possibly even nuclear and his intention was it was argued was to dominate the region by intimidation and fear and ultimately to wipe Israel off the face of the planet.

Mr Hussein had been warned repeatedly, by every one , his refusal to allow weapons inspectors into the country, weapons inspectors who had been licenced by the United Nations no less! Well he had had his chance and reluctantly, we are told, it was decided by Bush and BLiar that action had to be taken before mr Hussein could act and even if the evidence had to be fabricated it was for the good of the world.

Subsequently the afore mentioned Bush and BLiar went before their respective cabinets and people, and by generally stretching the facts to fit the situation, using the intel provided by Monty Python among others, convinced their people of the urgency of removing mr. Hussein from power, a task which they expected to be over in a matter of weeks, if not days.

Mr. Hussein was duly ejected from Iraq and when careful scrutiny of the country failed to turn up any of the WMDs which Bush and BLiar had promised and in fact found nothing more than an old bunker with a few cannisters of gas which were left over from the first time Iraq had been invaded.

Of course the warmongering right wing claimed that this was proof absolute that these weapons existed but the truth was that the people had been lied to, which led the cynics to claim that the whole war had been stage managed by Bush and BLiar to get control of the vast oil deposits which Iraq had.

Now of course the war drags on and on, the capitalists rub their hands in glee, and the propoganda machinery pump out disinformation every day. Every major western city is on high alert because the Muslim extremists claim that the war shows the decadent western capitalists for what they are - greedy grasping thieves and evry ordinary man, woman and child is at risk because of the greed of a few capitalists - and incidently , none of the families of the architects of this war are in the military fighting the good fight, they are at home enjoying the high life at the expense of others less fortunate.

There are more detailed accounts - everywhere, but this is just the gist and I don't think that I have exagerated anywhere, quite the opposite in fact.

A show of strength in the Middle East. A plan to insert a 'democracy' [ha] in a region which apparently does not have one. Oops. What about Turkey? The biggest democracy between Europe and India. Bush seems to have ignored the Turks who have been creating and making their very own democracy, without asking permission first, for many decades. Certainly since the world class hero Atta Turk.

Go Turkey Go. EU next.

Here's the reasons:
1. Public Law #105-338 (Iraq Liberation Act) of Oct. 31, 1998.
2. Public Law #107-243 (Authorization For Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002).
Read them both.

Lots of bad intel, Saddam being defiant (kicking out weapons inspectors etc), the possibility of creating a friendly Arab democracy in the region, and President George W. Bush believing that it would be a cakewalk.

Congress issued an Authorization for the Use of Military Force, which authorized the executive to send troops in to address specific concerns.

Didn't you see Fahrenheit 9/11? The Bush family has been in the petroleum import business since Bush Senior left the white house. George W. Bush is using American tax money and our soldiers' lives as an investment to get Iraqi oil for his retirement years.
