Feed him rice and chicken.

Vienna sausages are too rich. Some plain boiled ground lamb, lean hamburger,or boiled chicken would be better. Our vet has always recommended cottage cheese and rice, with any of the above for meat after a few days of just the cc&r.

The spices and fat will be too much if the dogs stomach is upset, stick with unseasoned meats like chicken or beef. I know you are trying to be kind but just feed him simply and give him a nice belly rub instead.
Yes on the applesauce, you can also feed yogurt which is very soothing for the stomach. Make sure it is plain, good bacteria yogurt with NO sugar in it. Read the ingredients because for some bizzare reason they put sugar in yogurt.

no, Vienna sausage is high in fat, that can cause more stomach upset. boiled chicken and rice is best.

oh no that won't hurt him. he'll think they're the best thing on earth. but you might cut them up because the dogs i know have a tendency to try and swallow them whole which can make them choke. no, they won't hurt him at all.
