ok, um i dont think you guys understood what i was talking about. in the lotus tattoo there is that black part? well its someones name in arabic, and i DONT want that. so instead of that, i was thinking about putting the chinese words "strenght" and YES IT DOES MEAN STRENGHT THANK YOU. i looked it up and if i'm not right, my tattoo guy will tell me.

the strength is really important to me, but i dont want it to look awkward. and the reason WHY i'm asking this is because i wanted OTHER PEOPLES opinion about it. just to see what they think. i'm positive this is what i want, i just wanted to see what other people thought about it.

thank you for your time, and input :)

ONE MORE THING, if your just gonna say "i wouldn't get a tattoo because what is it gonna look like when you get older?" then dont bother saying anything at all. i know what happens to tattoos when you get older, but it really just depends on how you take care of them RIGHT when you get one. i've done my research, i know what to expect, and no one can change my mind thank you.

when you get older, things are gonna start to sag and get wrinkly and so will the tattoo, big deal. then i can look back on it and say, "i remember when i got that. dang, that looks just as bad as me!! :)"

what you say cant change my mind. i just want your opinion on what it looks like, because i'm in love with it and i want other people to like it too.

Hi sweetheart,
I understand what you mean, you want the top tattoo but instead of the arabic you'd like the symbols.

I think that'd be gorgeous, the colours in it are lovely, and its very feminine. I think it'd look good where you want it too. 100% go for it!!!

Just make sure you pick a great artist, and dont pick one on price. Look at their work and see how good they are!!! Dont forget, they only put their best work on display.

First off, this is YOUR tattoo. You shouldn't care what other people think. This is going to be a part of you and only you until the day you die. If the lotus is that symbolic and special, get it. If the strength symbol is just as important, go ahead and throw that in, too. you can always go back and add it if you aren't sure about it at first.

Dont care if other people like your final product its your tat your body. Put it where you want and get what you want. Dont live your life for others.I don't know if this tat has any real meaning to you. Just don't get the same exact flower. Take your ideas to your artist and have him draw up a custom one for you. You can bring him the pics to help him see what you want. You should have something more you. Something you came up with. Something that describes your inner self not someone else.

A lotus traditionally signifies impregnibility/immuneness. Most girls I know do it as a sign of beauty to signify their womanhood. In China, it means immortality. So skip the kanji for "strengh/power" & just get the lotus instead.

That's pretty cool, I would try and see if the tattoo artist can incorporate the symbol into the flower or with it...I think that's a good placement too...between the shoulder blades : )

i suggest finding pictures of lotus flowers that you like and taking the pictures to a tattoo artist and letting them create something unique for you. you are right for not wanting to get someone else's tattoo. it REALLY sucks when people rip off other people's stuff. as for having symbols for languages which you don't understant or have any cultural ties to is dumb in my mind but whatever, it is your body. have you tried looking up pictures of real lotus flowers? i think they are absolutely beautiful and there are so many colors and styles.

are you sure it means strength?
http://hanzismatter.com

the symbol for strength (chikara) is simply 力

I'd stick to the flower, it's safer. If you really want a kanji tattoo make sure you ask the opinion of a native speaker.

======================================
力 = strenght, power
量 = quantity, weight, amount

力量 = "physical strenght," ability, capacity

if you want the symbol that best represents strength that's 力

I think it's great, it's a very nice choice, get the writing in it as well, I can picture it and it looks fantastic. Don't worry about what everyone else thinks, even me, it's your tattoo and you have to be happy with it. You will never get everyone to agree that its great, so as long as you like it, go for it!

They are both great, but I like the lotus, as long as it's only the black part, without the color and smoke.
