Ok. Let me start out by saying that this is really strange and would like serious answers only.

So sometimes, well more than sometimes I have this thought in my head. It's pretty gross I guess. I somethings think about dismembering a human body. But the really strange thing is that I don't kill the person, I just see the dead body and tear it apart. I am in no way homicidal. Just really keep thinking about ripping it apart and thinking of what I could do with the singled out parts.

Now the question is should I tell my psychiatrist about that? I am in fear that they will lock me up or something. I really don't feel like I am a threat to anyone, well besides myself sometimes but thats neither here or there. And the other question is what could be causing these thoughts?

For sure! Be honest with your psychiatrist. You cannot be locked up for thinking about something. It is not illegal to imagine things. I have no idea why you are thinking about these things, just make sure that you don't act on them or you will be spending the rest of your life being miserable in prison. Ask your psychiatrist why you are thinking these things. You can't even be put in a mental institution for just thinking about commiting a crime.
You would be asked 2 questions:
1. Do you plan on harming yourself? and,
2. Do you plan on harming someone else?
If you have plans to do it, you can be locked up.
If you are just entertaining ideas, you will remain free.
Always be honest with your doctor. You are paying him to help you. He can't help you if you aren't truthful with him.

The only way a psychiatrist will call the police or call for help is if they see you as a direct threat to someone else or yourself. I think by your explanation above, you seem very sane to me. Many people have strange fantasies and thoughts. It would be good for you to hear another opinion on this, as the psychiatrist may have some insight as to why you think about this. Above all, I think you should never be scared to tell them anything - being honest and truthful is the only way that you can get on the road to recovery.

First, many people have thoughts of harming others but never act on those thoughts.

Since you are going to see a psychiatrist, you need to be totally honest in ALL areas or you are wasting your money and his time.

Unless the psychiatrist feels you are a danger to yourself and others, meaning you will in all probably act on the thoughts, he will not report it. Rather, the psychiatrist will help you would through it and replace those thoughts with more productive ones.

Print out your questions and give it to your doc. They know that some thoughts are just connected to other problems and you aren't planning on hurting anyone. You may have ocd which is a disorder that causes you to have strange thought and do rituals like counting and cleaning over and over to keep anxiety away. If you don't tell your doc the truth you will be wasting time. Get help..... You are already seeing someone that is the start.

You will not be locked up - unless you have a plan to hurt yourself. I was afraid to talk to the psychiatrist, but you gotta tell the truth. When the conversation was done I asked if she was going to lock me up. She asked me if I was planning on hurting myself or someone else. My answer was no, so she said she wasn't going to lock me up.
I think movies and misinformation make us worry more than we need to.

Just tell him what you told us. You are not thinking of hurting someone, but have a troubling recurring thought. Your Dr. can help you get past this, but only if you tell him. It will be OK

you should be completely honest with your doctor no matter how disgusting the thought is. if not, they can't really help you.

it could be something you want to do to yourself, making some things suicidal

YES you need to tell your psychiatrist. How is he going to help you if you don't tell him what's going on?

The cause of these thoughts??? don't know but it isn't normal.
