I want invisalign. (The clear braces.) Would NG help out with that or what? Not sure how it works. But I'm enlisting in about 2 weeks.

I don't think so, but talk to a recruiter. I thought of doing NG a couple years back and asked about health care. I was told it only covered procedures needed while training, unless I was called to active duty. Since they don't cover medical, I doubt they cover invisalign but ask a recruiter. Good luck in the NG!

The braces that you are inquiring about would not be covered by the NG, you would only be covered while on drill weekend or while on active duty. As for the Reserves, the same would apply. Active duty on the other hand, would cover you 24/7. But the aforementioned type of braces would be considered as purely cosmetic and probably would not be covered. Regular braces would be covered.

Dental coverage for the National Guard is only covered when you are on Active Duty. However, you are eligible for TRICARE's Dental Program while on inactive status. Check out their site for more information.

I don't think they'll cover invisalign. But look through the site and see. Good luck.

No, National Guard members are not given any health care while in the National Guard.

The State covers any injuries received during routine training and state call ups.

If they are active duty status for training or deployment, then they receive the same medicial and dental care active duty troops receive.

And the military will only do braces, if they are medicially necessary.

Guard members can buy dental insurance through concordia a branch off of tricare. Ask your unit for a brochure or telephone number to contact Concordia. There might also be a website.

When you're on active duty all medical and dental are covered. Once your in Guard or Reserve status You need to enroll in Tricare to be covered, I believe it's pretty inexpensive. Talk to your recruiter about it and once you get assigned to a unit talk to your UA and NCOs.

NO, you have to be activated onto active duty to be eligible for dental and NO they are going to cover invisalign even if you are activated.

tricare only pays a % for braces and for us as a full serving members dependent there was a co pay of $100.00 per visit invisalign was NOT covered at all, with us having to suck up the entire cost if that's what we wanted.

regards
