In other words, have you ever done something on a hunch, walked home a different way, or taken a "wrong" turn in your car...and then found yourself helping a stranger who really needed it, and who was then amazed that you showed up "out of nowhere?"

I hope I have been an answer to someone else's prayer on many different occasions, though not necessarily in such an unexpected way. When you are living for God, you keep doing the right thing, and that always means helping someone else.

I try to help people out as much as possible. I don't really do anything differently than I do every day, as far as going home a different way or taking a wrong turn, but I do hold the door for people when someone is behind me, or I'll help someone carry something if I see they need help, and I try to say hello to some people when walk by them. I try to help people out all the time, and I hope that it spreads to other people, I hope that other people will see me help others, and they will turn around and help other people. I try to live life as one of God's children, help those around me, and asking for nothing in return. I want to help people, and I want other people to help others and do a good deed for other people as well.

I was walking through a parking lot on a 100 degree day and saw a mother with 4 kids staring down a storm drain. The mother was frazzled, she was holding a pizza, and one of the kids was autistic and acting up. As I approached I asked her if she had dropped her car keys down the drain. She answered yes. I went to a dry cleaners nearby and got a coat hanger and fished her keys out for her. She cried and thanked me and kissed me at least 10 times on the cheek and said that GOD had sent me. Needless to say, I smiled for the rest of the day.

Yes. As a pastor I went to visit a church member and they were not home. I saw a light on another member's porch and decided to go visit them. The man answered the door and when he saw me he started crying. It seems he needed to talk to me and there I was.

YES!! This is 100% true. Anybody who knows me know that I do not tell fibs about spiritual things!

I was sitting on a bench at the L.A. Observatory...enjoying a cigar...I was "dressed for church" (cassock and collar) - and a very clear voice (not audible) said..."See that girl over there...she needs to talk to you."

I ignored it. I was tired and relaxing.

It happened again. This time it was more like: "Hurry! She's gonna leave!!"

So - I put out my cigar - walked over to her...and said (I was nervous....I thought she might think I was a nutter)

"I don't know if you believe stuff like this...but I was just "told" that you needed to talk to me..."

She said: "That's very interesting, Father. I was sitting here praying for the last five minutes that God would send you over to me."

Again...true story!

yeah, and vise versa.

when I do a good deed and some one says "what do I owe you" ... my reply is always the same "you owe me nothing, all I ask is that you pass a good deed on to some one else".
They smile, nod, and off we go in different directions.
