With the wide variety of flavor available in beers of just one shade, I don't think that I can make a definite light or dark qualification. Some darker beers are fairly light in taste and body, while lighter beers can be found that are very full bodied and heavy feeling on the palate. That being said, I typically prefer something that does have some color to it.
If you like Guinness, try Murphy's Stout. I like it better then Guinness, but it is not quite as easy to find.

My favorite is Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout. But on a hot day, a Belgian blonde or a German hefeweisen with a slice of lemon in it is a real treat.

Depends on where I'm drinking, how welll the beer is kept, what the weather is like and what I 'm eating. Stupid question.
