I just got my first tattoo but the artist made a mistake and shaded the wrong area of the star. It was supposed to be a nautical star but is now just a solid black star. Is it possible to use a white ink or something to make it more like a nautical star?

no. if it is a solid black star you can't lighten it with other inks, that's just not how ink works. the only thing i know to do is go back to the shop and complain. maybe you'll get your money back. definitely don't let them tattoo you again. it is always so important to research artists before getting tattooed. it is such an important purchase, you can't let just anybody do it.

If you got a tattooist to do this they would probably go over the whole thing so that parts don't look faded compared to other parts. Means your tattoo would be like new again. When I get the money for my next tattoo I'm going to get a little extra and get my other ones retouched.

Yes it is possible. First go to a professional tatoo artist. My husband had a black rose covered by a dragon shaded in green, tan, and white. It competely covered the old tatoo.
Research tatoo artists in your area. Check their credability and ask to see a portfolio. See if they have pictures of tatoos that have been covered over by another.
My husband's is a " before and after" example in the portfolio of the artist who did his. In your case, it shouldn't be too hard to fix.
Good Luck

Yes, there is way but, it is painful. And then go to a pro who is not drunk or wasted and get want you want.
