You will get used to it sweet heart! I know it's tough at first but don't worry. It just takes some time. If you use wax your tongue won't get used to it so just bear with it for a little while! You'll do great!

That's something best answered by your dentist or orthodontist. I'm guessing that the act of swallowing is the same, but you might be able to put dental wax on the sharp parts of the expander to save your mouth a little.

For the first couple of days, your tongue will be a little cut up no matter what. But eventually it'll stop as your mouth and tongue adjust. Trust me - just a couple of days and you'll be fine!
