out of power & to find the WMD and get rid of them? We didn't find those weapons (yet; Saddam halted us for a long time from entering Iraq so he had enough time to hid them in another country) & Saddam is dead now. So, after Saddam's capture, why didn't we start pulling out? With Saddam out of power or dead, that wasn't going to stop terrorists. These men are devote to their own cause & beliefs. They don't need Saddam, they will continue to follow anyone who is in high ranks, right? I fully understand that we are there to fight the Al-Qaeida (in Iran) but in all honestly, we can't kill all of them cuz they're spread over the entire world. Hell, they have been living among us in the USA for years.

We aren't really at war with Iraq anymore, right? We are at war with terrorists, right? We are trying to kill terrorists & weakening them while trying to help the new Iraq government build itself up & rebuild the cities. Bush says we will win. WHAT will we win?? I don't understand.

First, the executive branch cannot declare war -- that's exclusively reserved to Congress.

Second, Congress never declared war in Iraq. They issued an Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF). There is a huge legal difference between the two.

Third, yes, the AUMF set forth an agenda of removing Saddam and looking for WMDs and a couple other things.

Congress just hasn't pushed the issue that Bush is operating way beyond the scope of the original AUMF.

When Bush says "We will win", he really wants to conquer the national Iraqi resistance that has sprung up almost immediately after the March 2003 invasion. After the resistance is beaten, which will never happen, they will pass their oil laws through the puppet Iraqi Parliament with the ultimate puppet Nuri Al-Maliki (if he remains in office) at its head, therefore granting US oil corporations drilling rights in Iraq and 70% of the profits that come out of Iraqi oil through PSA's (Production-Sharing Agreements). The Neo-cons had planned to take out Saddam wayyyyyy before September 11th. 9/11 just provided a pretext for war with Iraq. The reason why we havent pulled out of Iraq yet is because we are far from winning. And what are our goals??? Winning production rights to Iraqs oil, building permanent military bases, creating an Iraqi government in compliance with the guidelines set forth by Washington, conquering the Iraqi resistance. This hasnt happened yet. And most likely wont happen in a while. Trust me, you think this war is bad now? We havent seen anything yet. This "war on terror" is gonna last "for decades" in the words of Dick Cheney.

Congress approved the use for tension for the President, the President then used that tension. yet inspite of criminal technicalities, Bush pushed for and asked for the authorization to apply tension, despatched his entire distant places coverage group to the Capital to talk for the bill, or perhaps began shifting troops around previously the bil replaced into voted on. So, it incredibly is blamed on Bush. finally, there was a time whilst a President did no longer conceal in the back of technicalities yet declared that 'The dollar Stops right here'. What got here about to that? If something undesirable happens by using the country or we've undesirable regulations mutually as a President is in workplace, it incredibly is the President's fault. Sorry.

This is a very rare intelligent question, you have summed up the follies of US foreign policy in a nutshell. The Iraq war, according to Bush's original intentions, has been won, now there is no reason to be there anymore especially with the civil war raging. Time to bug out!

Only Congress can declare war, and they have not done so since WWII.
