that's a bit of a puzzle. It seems that secular movements are here to stay. Also, in the current worldframe Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism are always around the corner. Christianity is very fragmented organizationally. Will churches fuse? Will some disappear while others stay? I personally believe that fusion is essentially out of the question. Magistrial protestant churches (Lutheran, Anglican) are in a terrible shape and I think they will disappear. Methodism, Baptism and Pentecostalism are sweeping the world like they have swept the US. Catholicism will probably remain standing, find a new way to position itself in the new configuration.

as to the total size of Christianity, I do believe it's a safe bet it will get smaller yet. But not spectacularly. As to its content and opinions, who knows? This anti-evolutionism will obviously not continue for very long, but abortion and same-sex marriage might remain hotbutton issues.

oh yeah and ever so often a whole lot will think the end is coming because christianity is in decline, and that will revitalize christianity. Seriously, that is the belief that keeps reinvigorating it time and time again.

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

like the rest of the world, it has been deeply penetrated by negative forces, so i would rather think in terms of individuals who are the truth and the light, whoever they may be.
