What happens? We go into the ground and the bacteria continue to run up the score.

I do believe in an afterlife. I have not found a description of Heaven anywhere in the bible so I think the afterlife is beyond human understanding.
Original sin is the reason for death; we weren't supposed to eat from the tree of knowledge and it makes sense that we die, if no one ever died then the world would be a very crowded place.

As for proof ... look at your hand, look at a tree, and study your dog. To me these are all proof of God; I have a hard time believing everything here was a cosmic accident.

Mostly it's just a matter of faith, I don't mean faith in what a member of the clergy tells you is true - I mean faith in what you see and feel. I read the bible and what I take from it is different from what any church teaches.
The reason I believe in an afterlife: When my step daddy died I was inconsolable. Partly because he wasn't with us anymore and I knew I would miss him terribly and partly because he was agnostic, I had always been taught if you sat on the fence of faith that living a good life wasn't enough - you have to believe. That night while I was lying in bed crying, I prayed ... I prayed that my family would survive the pain of losing Jim and that he would be okay in the afterlife. I felt a hand on my head, not hard and it didn't move - but very comforting and reassuring and I knew that Jim was okay. I don't know if that feeling came from Jesus, an angel or even Jim himself. (Though it felt like Jim, I can't explain why - it just did.)

Why do we have to die? Because of sin. Why did God create death? He didn't, just a natural byproduct of sin. Proof and evidence? check out the site below and do the studies you can find there and you will understand it. As for what happens after death, you stop breathing and your body is buried or burned to ashes and you wait till Jesus comes back. Just as you asked with no scripture. You really can't understand any of it without it or see the reasons for it so if interested in k nowing truth, check out the site below and do the studies there.

There is no death,as energy doesn't die, and we are beings run by energy, The body gets old, just like a car, as it is a material body, I feel Christs whole message as to why he came was to let people know that there was no death! I think that death is a man made word.
Think about it, You are on this big ball spinning in space, rotating around in a circle with other planets (also, no space, no planet to float in it!) A body that has to be designed in order to do what it does, think, walk straight, blood flowing in a certain direction etc etc........Need more proof?
My friend once asked what faith was too, And I never forgot what the other friend said, she said " You see that chair you're sitting on? Did you go up to that chair and inspect it first to see if it would hold you up?, No, you just walked up to it and sat down , trusting that it would hold you up."
How do know there is air? You usually don't see it, but you know that it is there.
Last but not least, I had a cousin that died and lived to tell about it. He drowned in some water in an under tow. He said he couldn't hold his breath any longer. He said when he took a breath, he was in the most beautiful place he's ever seen.
When he came to, he was on a sandy beach with his face in the sand. He got up and wandered over to his friends who didn't even know he was missing.
I had a another friend that had died and was told that it wasn't her time, and was sent back. She had more to learn or more to teach others by her life. Hope you find the answers that you need in your life, to live a good one for yourself. Good luck

Theres no way we the living could know, because to know is to die, and that's not very pleasant. We don't HAVE to die, we just do as a side effect of aging, nothing lasts forever.

If you believe in God, then he created death as a way of transferring people from one state of existance, to the next. There is no definitive proof within non-opinion that there is a God.

The only proof for any of things is death from aging, our bodies are made of organic components which oxidize as well as breakdown on a molecular level due to functioning use. We can only endure so much before our body can no longer sustain the electro/chemical reactions within our body and then cease to function.

Let me put it to you this way. when you look aroung you what do you see? You see all this things humans have created right. how do you know who created it? well they put their name on it. What happends when there is something wrong, well they also make a manual, so you can go and see where the problems is and how to fix it. how about this? air you see it? no right, yet you know is there, why, because some told you? no, beacause is neccesary to us to live. Now the one that created us did a good job, if you study the human you can see that is a unique peace of art, and someone must had put it together in order to funtion the way it does. Now did the one that created us also made a manual for us to refer to, when we have problems?. Sure he did, he made the bible, in there you will the answer to the questions you posted and more, such as how to be happy in this sad world, how to have a good family, know what the future hold for us. if you want bible scritures i will give then to you, if not just follow the link posted by siste izoblue37.

I am a Christian. There is a God. The proof is everything, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for Him. Just read the bible, everything you need to know is in there. I don't know a whole lot about this, but I don't think we were meant to die. After Satan deceived Eve, God had to banish Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden because he can't stand sin. Again, I'm not an expert on this but you could probably find it on a good Christian chat site if there is one. Also, if you read Revalation, it explains everything that happens after the rapture to both those who have faith in Christ and those who don't.

When a person dies, he ceases to exist. Death is the opposite of life. The dead do not see or hear or think. The life we enjoy is like the flame of a candle. When the flame is put out, it does not go anywhere. It is simply gone.

The reason we die goes back to the Garden of Eden. When God put Adam and Eve into the Garden of Eden he gave them one law, don't eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, and he told them the consequence if they did, they would die.

Their obedience would give them the special opportunity to show their gratitude to their creator and show that they respected the authority of their heavenly Father and that they wanted his loving direction.

Unfortunately, they chose to disobey. Satan told Eve that if she ate from the tree of knowledge, she would not die and she was bound to be like God. She ate the fruit and so did Adam. Adam and Eve began to die at that moment. They were very close to perfection, so it took them a very long time to age and die, but they did.

The reason we die is that Adam’s sinful condition as well as death was passed on to all of his descendants. (Romans 5:12) Sin is like a terrible inherited disease from which no one can escape. Its consequence, death, is a curse.

The proof is that we are all dying. No human escapes this.

Honestly NO ONE knows the answeer to this question....You will have a number of bible beaters and science people telling you different crap but remember neither one of them can prove anything except what they read in a book that someone else has written...... People will say Jesus said this and Gandi said this and Muhamad said this but no one even really knows if they said that or existed at all.... The "bible" americans believe in was written almost 60-100 years after the fact happened that is like us just now revealing secrets of WWII and writting them down we would not know what was true or false....... Remember it is what you believe that counts not what other people will try to tell you and I am sure you will get alot of responses from other people on here saying "jesus is the only way" crap but remember no one really knows anything.....This is a mystery you have to figure out on your own.......

When your body dies your spirit or your soul returns to God and stays there until it is time to be resurrected and face the Judgment of God.... Now after you are judge you either Died again and enter the fiery pit or you are allowed to live and worship God forever........ for at this time death can never over take you again....... Now without reading the bible and quoting Scripture this is as close as I can get to telling you the truth.............. Also we do die for we are not allowed to live forever in sin........

If we cant use scripture how can we say there is a God, or explain what happens after death. I mean only religion uses these concepts, not science.
