O.K., all you hypocrits who blame this war on Republicans, please see this. You people have the attention span of ants. Nope, that would be a compliment.

I don't think supporting troops means one has to support the ideology that puts them in harm's way.
I would imagine that many liberals have children in Iraq. Not to mention the tax dollars that come directly from the paychecks of liberal citizens that fund the salaries of enlisted personnel.

The way I see it you can support your troops, but you don't have to support the war itself. I don't necessarily agree with the war in Iraq, but I still remain very thankful to those in uniform who are out there everyday in the battlefield, risking their own lives and security so I can still have mine. I guess I don't understand where all of this "You're either for us or against us" philosophy comes from. I don't see why because I'm against the war automatically means that I don't support my troops. I just don't want to see any more American blood being spilled for a war that was based on a pack of lies.

I do support the troops. I support them by wanting them to come home in one piece and not be blown away because the collective retards in charge of the war couldn't manage a lemonade stand.
Wouldn't the desire for those who are in charge of this war to be smarter than a gerbil with a crack addiction be constrewed as support for the troops? You're satisfied with President ShitForBrains' feeble attempts and that's resulted in nothing but more deaths. So how are you supporting them? Do you really think the yellow ribbon on your pick-up truck means jack to them?

Listen. The troops are dying for a war based on a pack of lies. No link of Iraq to Al-qaeda before September 11th, no weapons of mass destruction, no liberated Iraqis cheering in the streets giving the troops flowers and candy. The Lancet medical journal has recently estimated that 600,000 Iraqis have died ever since the March 2003 invasion. So then what are the troops fighting for then? Oil and empire. Thats it. Simple as that. Why do you think the Administration is pushing the Iraqi Parliament to pass this "Oil Law" that grants US oil companies and other transnational corporations "PSA's" or (Production-Sharing Agreements) which through contracts, grants US corporations 70% of profits made from Iraqi oil. This is just bare, naked imperialism at its worst. Why is that so hard to see.
The troops are dying for a voracious ruling class hell-bent on salvaging whatever grip they have on the world left, by exploiting Iraq's natural resources and using their land as launching pads for future military imperialistic adventures with other countries (Iran, Syria, Pakistan). Most of the troops know this, but they still feel that they need to do their job unfortunately. So when we say "Bring the troops home now", were trying to get the troops out of a way of a national Iraqi resistance that has no near end in sight of abating in the future. We're trying to get them out of this oil war. Were trying to bring them home so they can live decent lives instead of killing innocent people for oil and empire. Trust me on this one.

It is the neocons who do not support the troops. They have placed our troops in harm's way in a bogus war that was built on a pack of lies. That is not supporting the troops. Then, when our soldiers are injured and need ongoing medical care, they receive lousy treatment at run-down scandal-ridden hospitals that are underfunded due to neoncon budget cuts. The neoncons are titanic hypocrites and just like the Titanic, they are going under - fast. The Bushies are all bailing like crazy - with a thimble.

It's their way of comforting themselves. I think deep down inside they know how terribly confused and wrong they are. They despise the American military and what it stands for. Saying they support the troops makes them feel all warm and mushy inside, like Al Gore does when he tells us to drive small cars to save gas and lessen pollution at a rally and jumps on a Lear Jet to fly cross country to dinner. Liberalism is all about contradictions (I actually voted for the war before I voted against it...). It's all about making themselves feel good and to hell with anybody else. And they try to come off as people persons... HA!

Coragryph is right. You can support a person for their courage to fight and follow order's, while at the same time disagreeing with the thing they are fighting for. This is how i feel with japanese troops in WWII on iwo jima.
How is wanyting them to stay and die supporting them? How is wanting them to come home and see their families not supporting them?

Easily...... I very steadfastly support our troops, I have good reason, I have relatives in the service. But I do not have to agree with the policies of the president, soldiers do what soldiers do, they follow orders, they march into danger while others sit at home........ Getting them out of a war that serves no purpose is the absolute best way to support them......or is your idea of support buying more body bags for them?

When the liberals (and conservatives) are doing whatever they can to get us out of there, I believe they are supporting us.
When the liberals (and conservatives) work towards giving veterans better healthcare and education benefits, I believe they are supporting us.
When the liberals (and conservatives) vote to spend money on updating our gear to make it as safe as possible, I believe they are supporting us.
When the liberals (and conservatives) say that this war is crap and needs to end, they are not supporting our President and other war-mongers. They are supporting US.

I'm in the army and I've been to Iraq. I don't support what we are doing. I think this war is ridiculous and by keeping us there it is providing us a disservice. That's just me though...
