They smell good and strangely it makes them feel close thier owners. Plus they like to destroy stuff when they are bored.

A number of reasons: *The smell. *Out of boredom. *Just too good to pass up. * They might be mad at you!.. My dog once actually went into my closet and ate up my favorite dress because I left her home. I couldn't even get angry, I was more amazed then anything, like a child throwing a temper tantrum!
She is now 10 years old and my best friend!

If it is a puppy they are just teething to strenthen their growing teeth, if it is a grown dog It probably just thinks it is another one of its chew toys. this happens to dogs that are getting spoiled with toys, like to claim everything to be their own, or they just like chewing because they do it to their chew toy it might be learning that it can chew anything it wants, you will have to teach it right from wrong. I only had this problem with my dog when she sees a small thing on the floor.

jmaclover97? No fair, you can't just change someones question and then answer the one you asked. That's a very strange thing to do. It said, "dog" not puppy.

Nothing yummy at all. But they smell like you, and you didn't leave her anything interesting to play with, and you've been gone a really long time, and there wasn't anything on TV, sooo...

Dogs will sometimes chew on things that have their owner's scent on them. My dog likes to pick up my shoes, but he doesn't chew them. But he is a retriever, and he was bred to retrieve.

If this is not a puppy, your dog is doing what is natural to him/her.
It is gutting the thing. The more they chew up things the more this will occur.

well i think when u say "dog" i think u mean puppy. Puppies need to bite on something because their teeth are growing. but they grow out of it.
