I asked a question on here about my sister, & someone (apparently new) gave me an answer, stating that I was "wrong" for exploiting my sister by "putting my personal business on the net". Hello! People ask advice about their family members all the time.

This person certainly has an unusual idea of exploitation.
It appears he/her got you riled up. Just ignore them.

As long as you don't mention any names, where you're from, and your home address, nothing is really personal on the internet. It's your decision what you ask and what information you give out. Just like it's someone else's decision whether or not to answer your question.

Of course people talk about their families all of the time. You (I am certain) did not give out names, dates, places of residence, etc. so what is the big deal?? No one knows our identity on here unless we choose to give it. You are exploiting no one.

Well, knowing the story would help to make a better judgment.

But given to its anonymity, isn't the Internet now the place where you can get an answer to "everything you always wanted to know about any subject, but you were afraid to ask" (in real life, that is)?
