what is sad is that people didnt leave due to him being a bad preacher and living a bad life ... but that he said there is no hell
this makes me think that people are more scared of going to hell , than happy to be in heaven
that people wish to be given exclusive tickets to a place that others cant get to
wassup with just going to church to praise God for a wonderful existence and a beautiful earth
why does it always have to be about who is " saved " and who isnt

I can predict that in 5 years that preacher will have a bigger congregation than the one that he was kicked out of. He has his ducks in a row, has integrity and GENUINELY preaches the word of Jesus. the other Christians had best learn a lesson from him and stopo frightening thier members to "tow the line". That man is preaching LOVE and acceptance, an ideal that Jesus himself preached. If he was around 40 yuears ago, I'd BE a member of his congregation and NOT a Witch.

I was shocked to read he lost his congregation. It makes me angry that people can be so closed minded and bigoted. Rev. Pearson believes that Jesus Christ took on his sins etc. and then therefore, there would be no reason for hell, (my interpretation of the article.) I believe wholeheartedly in what he says. Hell sells, that's how so many preachers earn their money, support our mission, support our values, tithe, support our church on and on. He made some very good points and I feel he has brought a very important biblical principle to the forefront : Jesus Christ died for our sins to save us, that is why God, the Father sent him to this world. I am not a religious person but found this article compelling and say BRAVO !!

This guy is a man of honesty and integrity with the courage not to compromise with what is true for him based on his own observation and experience, and to hold his position despite any and all "reasons" why he shoudn't.
That's personal integrity.
And he's right. Man is basically good. Man creates his own "hell "by his own bad actions or failures to act when he should. Without self respect there can be no happiness or peace of mind or respect for ones fellows. That's hell.

Some christians take too much pleasure in the thought of the suffering of others to give up the fiction of hell.

The poor guy. Here's a guy that came to his conclusion (which I think is correct) by seeking it out for himself instead of blindly accepting what they taught him at bible school, instead of blindly following his superiors and he's defrocked. If Jesus came back soon, I think He would be very displeased with most of the churches today.

Yes I saw this the other night on 20/20 I thought this was
good nobody going to hell
I rather hear this being preached than some loony tune
preacher shouting and screaming we are all going to hell
He could preach in my church anyday

Hell is not a popular political topic--I guess if they don't hear it it won't exist?
They may need a new candlestick holder--one that's not so strict. Like, the one described in Rev.

hehehee so christian like their HELL...no real surprise.
Though with a god that is SUPPOSED to be EVERYWHERE, how could there be a place without god? That is just ANOTHER one of the twisted things in the christian doctrines. You just have to have the twisted tongue of a christian to get...like how someone as vile as a sinner((one that LIES and DEFIES their OWN god STILL gets into heaven?!?)
