No, Creatine is no mild steroid. Good, quality Creatine can add some weight to you, although it would be mostly water. It DOES help in gaining additional strength.
You have to keep in mind, Creatine turns into creatinine if left in water too long, so after you mix it, you need to drink it fast. I personally don't like having to take 30 to 40 grams of the stuff everyday, so I use 'Kre-Alkylin" Creatine. It's PH balanced and requires you to take much less, 1 gram, yes, 1 tiny little gram to be effective. I felt the swelling after the second time. I'm convinced in the stuff. You get what you pay for, so usually the cheap stuff sucks.

No creatine is not a minor steroid. Creatine is a naturally in the human body. Creatine will help you gain muscle mass as long as you use it properly. When supplementing on creatine you should drink about 10 glasses of water every day. Creatine draws water into muscle cells, so you need to drink plenty of water. Google it

Hey Chris. Creatine is a naturally produced molecule from amino acid metabolism in the body. In muscle cells it is converted to Creatine Phosphate for extra energy storage (release of the phosphate group provides a rapid source of energy production).

Many medical studies have looked at the effects of creatine supplementation. The only scientifically documented benefit is a very slight increase in short-term exertional performance.

For example, if you are able to perform 10 reps of bench presses with 150 pounds, high dose creatine supplementation may be able to help you perform one more rep, for a total of 11 reps. That is the 'benefit'.

Best wishes and good luck.
