I'm spinning out of control (see previous posts for details) and am now fighting the urge to cut again. I don't want to give into this, but if it gets any stronger I won't want to be talked out of it.

Does anyone know of someone I can call to talk to NOW to help get me past this? It's not a suicide issue, it's not even parasuicidal, it's a faulty coping mechanism - but if I don't break it now, it is going to break me.

Thanks for great responses - I guess I should've mentioned I'm not a teen - I'm in my 40s.

Called 1800DONTCUT - laughable, it's a recording saying leave a message and they'll get back to you within 2 business days and plugged their website, also no help.

Called my pastor, got voicemail. Left a message.

Hubby is recognizing behavior, no help, just lectures.

Ice cubes, rubberbands, painting arm - tried those and many more, no help.

Thanks for all answers. Encouraging to know at least strangers have compassion.

its time to pray
Jesus help this precious girl, loose the power of your preciouis blood, bind this from her, and give her as she closes her eyes the root of the problem and help her give it all to you, and not look back but look ahead with peace in heart.

in Jesus care, John 3 asked Jesus to forgive me, and help me and be my friend, to come into my heart to help me, amen

prayin on for you too precious one

Here are some things you can try while waiting for a cutting urge to pass:

call a friend and talk about something completely different
take a shower (make sure you don't have razors in the shower)
go for a walk or run, take a bike ride, dance like crazy, or get some other form of exercise
play with a pet
watch TV (change the channel if the show gets upsetting or features cutting)
drink a glass of water
